The room was spacious and clean. We particularly appreciated that the two beds weren't connected. The telephone on the room didn't work, but everything else was in order. The staff at the hotel was friendly but somewhat confused and could not answer (or answered incorrectly) some of our questions. For example, they gave us the wrong information about the breakfast time, so that my wife missed breakfast. The breakfast was a sad experience, however. Much of the food and drinks ran empty and weren't refilled without we asking several times. It also closed one hour before it was supposed to, according to the information in the room and given by the receptionist.

we topped up to get the lake facing rooms. lake was nice. reception staff were friendly. rooms were big and nice with a balcony but the balcony gets flooded in the rain. the bfast was very very basic though there was 1 cooked item of fried eggs with an extremely tiny pc of bacon on each egg. Most of the food items were not topped up either eg fruits and smoked salmon. very limited bread selection. no napkins too. but the dining room faced the lake which was nice.

We were very pleased with the view, car access, parking (free of charge) and foyer. Very friendly personnel. Rooms and hotel corridors were clean. A small restaurant that looked like a mini cafe had a proper menu where you can find something to your taste. Room was a good size that fits the beds, table, huge armchair with futon. Nice balcony with chairs. I was very satisfied with the service and location. The reasons I rated this hotel with 4 stars were warned out furniture, no fridge in the room or ice machine in the hotel, very small sink (RV type) that is very hard to use without splashing the water all over the floor and your feet, shower corner set in a way that you get the whole floor wet no matter how careful you were, no shampoo set and no shower mat. Floor heating in washroom was a nice option. The street side (mountain view) is noisy, but you can sleep if the door is closed. The lake side has a beautiful view over a huge lake that is 1700 feet deep and is claimed to be the deepest lake in Europe. The location of this hotel is not appropriate for food connoisseurs because the closest restaurants are 30 minutes drive away. But if you like sightseeing, you are in 30 minutes from the ferry to see the Geirangerfjord via ferry and continue to drive up to Dalsniba viewpoint that opens a spectacular view over the glaciers and fjords if the weather permits.

On my trip with some USA customers I needed a " Coffee " place to stop. I telephone ahead, to enquire if they had a solution, NO PROBLEM !?! On arrival, perfect setting, BUT, no one to help us at the coffee bar ( More interested in washing up ) ! Then the coffee machine did not work after several attempts to solve this. Some poor examples of " Cake " were supplied. Finally 2 busses arrived with 40+ customers, and we were no longer of interest !!! Sorry, sorry - we are only a customer !?!

Stayed one night here as a stop-over to break up a long journey. Had pre-booked and pre-paid dinner. Room was very comfortable and had a reasonably good sleep. The hotel is let down by its food which is bland and dry. The best dish was the dauphinois potatoes. The desserts (blancmange mould, sloppy chocolate in a bowl, cheesecake squares) looked horrible so I opted for fruit, of which there was only melon. Coach parties stay here and when we were there, we went down for breakfast just before 9am and almost everthing was gone, eaten by the coach party. The fruit was replenished but nothing else. We later discovered that there is a nice local cafe which serves good food and wine so would recommend there for dinner (they close at 8pm and are closed Mon & Tues we think).
