I have stayed here (Or tried to, sometimes it is fully booked) once or twice a year for maybe 6 years now! I am probably a bit biased, as I travel a LOT and when I find somewhere I feel comfortable I like to stay there when I can. The staff are very nice and it is always good to... More

Dear Mark Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear about the hacking incidents. Unfortunately at the beginning of this year until July 2016, we have also experienced negative internet speed (frustratingly slow and many times was not working) which we believe has resulted in our antivirus software installed on our computers being unable to prevent viruses... Went up to Tarawa on business and flew in with Nauru Airlines on the scenic route - Brisbane to Honiara to Nauru to Tarawa. Excellent in-flight service with meals that would put some airlines business class offerings to shame. Was recommended the Utirerei Hotel as a base. Situated about half way between the airport at Bonriki and the capital Besio,... More

Thank you for your review. We regret that the telephone system was not working as well as it should have. We are happy to advise that this has since improved. Further to this, we are happy to advise that our five new rooms have been completed and have been booked since July 2016. The largest room is an air conditioned... More

We spent a few days in the Utirerei Motel last month. The rooms are adequate and functional. There really isn't very much else on offer in Tarawa. The staff, like everybody else in Kiribati, are very friendly and accommodating within the limitations of the facilities. The menu is remarkably extensive - however, this does not appear to have been shared... More

We stayed here for a few days . I have to say in a limited market this is the best place to stay. The Rooms are fine and a good choice of food. The garden was nice to sit around when eating dinner or having a drink. We did look at other accommodation while here, but did not like the... More

Thank you for your review. There have been quite a few developments since you were last here with us, and the five new rooms set over the milk fish pond have been completed last July. A centrally located clean place with hot water shower if required and air con, for standards elsewhere in the world the word basic describes it best but this is Tarawa, the end of the world. The restaurant offers a fairly wide range of foods, drinks and cold beers but again the traveller shall consider the location not to be disappointed.... More

Utirerei Motel is well located, and has a friendly, helpful staff. The menu, for breakfast, lunch and dinner is extensive, considering the location, but not high on fruit and vegetables, which are difficult to come by on Tarawa. There is a great Chinese Restaurant (The Chineeese Restaurant) that is a 5 minute drive, or walk along the the road. Alternating between... More

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your comments. Due to limited availability of imported fresh vegetables we have now added a home garden to supply vegetables to supplement our menu with home grown vegetables such as Chinese cabbages, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, and spinach. Quiet room, 2nd floor. Hot water for shower, not for sink. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decent food. On the paved part of the road. Considering there aren't that many choices, this place was one of the best of the bunch.
