Went up to Tarawa on business and flew in with Nauru Airlines on the scenic route - Brisbane to Honiara to Nauru to Tarawa. Excellent in-flight service with meals that would put some airlines business class offerings to shame. Was recommended the Utirerei Hotel as a base. Situated about half way between the airport at Bonriki and the capital Besio,... More

We spent a few days in the Utirerei Motel last month. The rooms are adequate and functional. There really isn't very much else on offer in Tarawa. The staff, like everybody else in Kiribati, are very friendly and accommodating within the limitations of the facilities. The menu is remarkably extensive - however, this does not appear to have been shared... More

We stayed here for a few days . I have to say in a limited market this is the best place to stay. The Rooms are fine and a good choice of food. The garden was nice to sit around when eating dinner or having a drink. We did look at other accommodation while here, but did not like the... More

A centrally located clean place with hot water shower if required and air con, for standards elsewhere in the world the word basic describes it best but this is Tarawa, the end of the world. The restaurant offers a fairly wide range of foods, drinks and cold beers but again the traveller shall consider the location not to be disappointed.... More

Utirerei Motel is well located, and has a friendly, helpful staff. The menu, for breakfast, lunch and dinner is extensive, considering the location, but not high on fruit and vegetables, which are difficult to come by on Tarawa. There is a great Chinese Restaurant (The Chineeese Restaurant) that is a 5 minute drive, or walk along the the road. Alternating between... More

Quiet room, 2nd floor. Hot water for shower, not for sink. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decent food. On the paved part of the road. Considering there aren't that many choices, this place was one of the best of the bunch.

Have stayed at Utirerei Motel twice when I have been in Tarawa for work. The staff here are fantastic - always friendly, lovely and helpful. The restaurant provides a good variety of dishes and with limited other places to eat in Tarawa that is a bonus. I have had 2 different rooms and both have been clean, quiet and well... More

Stayed for 6 months for work. Has to be the best place on Tarawa so on a comparative scale I would give it 5 stars. The staff there make it what it is, was like a big family by the end, but felt like that from the start too. Also noticed how people on short stays got the same great... More

I stayed at Ucererei Motel for 13 nights on a business trip in September 2015. I also hired a rental car from them which was delivered to me at the airport and ready on arrival. During the stay I organized a workshop meeting using the motel boardroom and facilities for 25 guests catered for with morning tea and lunch. The... More

Utireirei is the best option in Tarawa. Although located a bit further away from the government precinct and Betio, it's well worth staying at for the rooms, food and homely service. The wifi is usually quite good, and there is a small kitchen area where you can warm up any food you have brought with you.
