You do NOT have to be a "twitcher" (i.e. what the Brits call an ardent bird-watcher) to enjoy a visit to the wonderful Souimanga Lodge in the little Sine Saloum village of Fimela but, if you are, then I guess you'll believe you've arrived in heaven. The former Parisien financial sector businessman, Denis, has lovingly and attentively invested in and... More

If you're looking to party and enjoy the nightlife then this is not the place for you. I was not. I went to Souimanga lodge for the weekend with a friend and our two children looking for relaxation and this we were able to do to the maximum. The location is idyllic and peaceful surrounded by the lagoon and mangroves.... More

It was probably the best place we stayed in Senegal, really friendly people, the view is amazing, rooms really clean and spacy, with wonderful balcony. Just loved the stay there, the meals were above level and we arranged our Quad trip, horseriding and Boat trip directly through them. I will definitely come back... I miss sometimes just the calm atmosphere.

They say the simplest things in life are best. Souimanga Lodge has certainly adhered to these principals in the design, comfort and functionality of it's suites but has rather over-egged it's catering. Service is friendly and good, the owner Denis and his wife, charming and helpful. The location on the Sine-Saloum Delta is peaceful with good bird watching from individual... More

We visited lovely Souimanga with our two young children last year and had a wonderful two-night stay. The food is excellent and the view from the pool magnificent. We resorted to using a translator app on our phone for basic communication given our horrible French skills, but it all worked out fine. Thanks again.

Spent 3 nights with my wife in this beautiful place back in October this year. A must visit for people who love nature and calm rather than going to hotels in Saly and the rest of the " Petite Cote" area. Accommodation is amazing, good food and very welcoming and caring personnel including owner's and his wife. Specially to look... More

I've traveled to most corners of Senegal over the past decade, staying in every sort of lodging, and Souimanga ranks as one of my top places to stay. Tasteful, in harmony with nature, good amenities, and very relaxing. The owners are great -- we had discovered at the end of our stay that we had left our cash at the... More

My wife and I travelled extensively through Senegal and without doubt this was the most relaxing place we stayed at. The 'cabins' were wonderfully fitted and spotlessly clean, on our arrival or bed was bedecked with flowers and there were vases of fresh flowers in the bathroom, while there was fresh fruit and a meal awaiting our late arrival. Nothing... More

We have just spent 5 nights here for pure relaxation at the end of our trip. It was an excellent choice. We stayed in a standard garden room which was spacious as was the bathroom. There is plenty of hot water too. We did not have any problems with mosquitoes at this time of year. There is no hairdryer in... More
