We only played golf and ate at the restaurant. This golf course is one of the two best in Chiang Mai, maybe the best depending on the day. Caddies are very good. Course is excellently maintained. Difficult but very fun. It can be a bit wet regardless of season. The restaurant was very good with some creative dishes. Good service. One of my favorites.

The golf course is one of the best I have ever played. The course is well maintained and offers also for longstaying guest a good variety because of the 27 holes. The clubhouse restaurant offers excellent food and the service is extremly friendly. Unfortunately the rooms and the breakfast at the hotel cannot keep up with the quality of the golf course and the clubhouse restaurant. The same applies for the pool area, no deckchairs and parasol / sunshades available. Breakfast at the hotel offers only a very limited selection of western style breakfast with acceptable quality. The rooms have seen much better times, especially the bathroom. When choosing a room, the extra cost for golf course view is very well invested.

Alpine is one of the best courses in Chiang Mai. No doubt. I played all the 27 holes in Alpine and I will put my findings in point form below 1) It has one of the most luxurious looking clubhouse in Chiang Mai. Having said that, I believe it is one of the most expensive in term of price to play here. I wanted to extend another 9 hole on a Wednesday weekday. Was told it cost 3100+ baht/pax for 9 holes extension. I almost fell off my buggy. Luckily, I called the golfagent who arranged my golf trip for me and was charged 2400baht/pax instead. Still, I find this abit pricey but nevertheless went ahead. At Siam Country Club Old Course, it only cost 5k baht to play 18 holes. 2) The condition of the course is awesome. But I have a very strange feeling. A course is a set of 9 holes with mature trees all over the place. B and C course however looks entirely different. Like a brand new course no way looking like a matured course as seen in A. A Par 3 hole in B or C if I remember correctly is rather innovative with padi fields surrounded over the green. Expect to find your ball on the padi fields if it does not reach the green or stay atop. 3) This course has one of the most punishing rough in whole of Thailand. If your ball gets into 2nd cut or more, good luck, especially at A course. B and C I don't really remember but I am not ashamed to announce that I actually had to give myself free drops on top of the 2nd cut and even doing so is a challenge because the balls just sink into it. A must play in Chiang Mai and I would accord it a barely 4 star course (almost downgraded to 3) due to point 1. Prefer Chiang Mai Highlands compared to here.
