(Make sure to read the last paragraph for information) My wife and I were looking for a get away from the city after living in Cairo for the past few years and we found it. You arrive after a 11 km drive and a 1 1/2 km hike to a beautiful lodge on the side of a hill with a stunning view. Once there you have a main cabin where they do food and a fire every night and separate cabins to stay in. The cabin we stayed in (The Hobbit House) had a bamboo bed, a table, a bathroom with a shower, and electricity if the sun was out that day. During the day you can relax and be one with nature, read, walk around the area (including visiting a neighboring village) or converse with others staying. We were extremely happy with our stay and would definitely return. There are some things to make sure you understand before going: 1. The hike to the lodge is strenuous and you do not want to have a lot of luggage going up. You have to walk over a small stream and uphill between farm plots on a small walking path 2. Unless you bring your own food, you are charged for everything while you are up there (coffee, beer, food, tea, etc.) While not a big deal, when you check out it may be a surprise to you. 3. The hosts are some of the most hospitable and kind people we have ever encountered. They are a family that has been up in the mountains for a few decades and are some of the most wonderful people. We loved our stay and can't wait to return. The only reason for the 4 star is due to the lack of information from the host on some of the details that would have made our stay smoother or easier to transition.

I volleyed many messages on Facebook with Khun Noi. Nowhere on the Facebook page does it mention that you have to walk up a trail to get to the lodge. Nowhere in our many messages was that mention. I did mention that we were hiring a car to come to the eco lodge. Nowhere in the information does it say that there is nowhere to park. We saw one small sign at the beginning of the 11 kilometer winding road to the eco lodge, but no signs after that. My very polite Thai wife called Khun Noi several times once we arrived and couldn't find the place. It was raining extremely hard. Noi said we needed to walk up a wet clay path to get to the eco lodge! We're not backpackers... we had luggage and a mountain bike! She offered no help, likely because we had already paid in advance is my guess. After a long wait, she finally offered to send a motorbike down to help with our luggage. Well, by that time we were so frustrated that we had already driven back to the highway. I do not recommend anyone going to this place unless you know exactly what you're going to get... a very basic room, which is fine, very little information, and very little help. Don't pay in advance. I gave 3 stars instead of 1, because I believe in the ethics of having a low impact eco lodge. Had No been honest from the start, we wouldn't have booked it as we were not in a position to schlep bags up a steep hill.

We enjoyed a fantastic visit for four days. Noi and her daughter and Winai were welcoming and gracious. Noi created delicious, healthy food from her kitchen. Nature's beauty surrounded us in all it's glory, inviting and comforting us throughout our stay. We look forward to our return. Stefanie and I give thanks...Blessings...

We stayed 3 nights at Limeleaf and really loved the place. All the bungalows have their own unique style, and were handbuilt by the family. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the place and were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature surrounding us. Noi, the owner, is really adorable and welcoming and she also is the BEST cook !! The whole family was here and we were lucky enough to spend some special time with the kids.

Spend a night there and did some trekking the other day. We were not very satisfied with our trekking guide (a guy not speaking any english), but the place itself is great and I can totally recommend it for a night or two to escape from the civilisation. Has a great view on the jungle, mountains and stars. Don't forget your bug repellent though ;)
