I work nearby Saimoonbury, and my coworkers and I frequently come here to eat dinner, get coffee, or grab drinks. They have a new gorgeous garden with a pond, and the little details are adorable...little flower pots sprinkled throughout the benches, cushioned seats carved out of little boats. The staff is so very welcoming and attentive, and speak great English. The restaurant is gorgeous...and the food mirrors that! I would highly recommend the green curry and pad thai, but honestly you can't go wrong! It's all amazing!

This is a beautiful resort within the mid price range. Rooms were very comfortable and the food was very tasty. Maybe it was because it was Songkran and we were the only people there but the evening staff just could not be bothered to serve us and preferred to spend their evening on their phones! The day staff were very helpful. Come on evening staff, do your job properly and don't let this lovely resort down!

This place is easy to find and hard to leave. The close feeling amongst the staff of this family-run hotel is tangible. And the restaurant is really excellent. Best food I tried in Thailand! I love the way they have landscaped the gardens, and each of the rooms is individually styled and well decorated. I spent 10 days here, most of it with two friends, and there was lots to explore in the area, especially the temples (including a beautiful nun's monastery that blew my mind away), the King's Project Factory and the nearby National Park (hot springs). Our visit to a hill tribe was very memorable, as was a private audience with a couple of hill top monks. I fell in love with the place, it's local population with their profoundly strong community spirit, and the peace and quiet it afforded me. And for an end of day dip the pool is indeed very welcome. If you're in the area and looking for peace and quiet rather than the high life (there's just some some melodic singing as live entertainment in the evenings) then it's a must stay in my view. Enjoy!

One of the great pleasures of Thailand is the resorts that are out of the way and locally run. They can be a bit eccentric, and Saimoonbury is no different. On the night we stayed at Saimoonbury we were one of the very few guests. On arrival we used the pool (which is nice and large), but were unable to communicate successfully with staff to find pool towels. My wife went for a massage, which she reported as tremendous and astoundingly good value for 1 hour at 200 baht. The evening meal by the lagoon was fantastic. It became obvious that the resort was a place that many locals liked to eat, as there were a number of different groups eating and live music entertainment. The menu was easy to follow and food delicious. The room we had was towards the back of the resort, relatively basic but comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was also relatively simple, with cooked western-style breakfast available. Complaints? None really. Just be prepared for the communication challenge if you have little Thai.

This place has a beautiful feel to it. It is clean, staff are helpful and it is very quiet. We had dinner there, the restaurant is next to a small lake and the food was delicious. The rooms were very comfortable with very spacious bathrooms. Breakfast was simple but sufficient.
