We had a confirmed as a group and had back and forth emails including arranging a traditional dinner. When we arrived it was locked up and no-one was there. Locals did not know why it was closed or that we were coming. Very hard to find alternative accommodation close by for a group. This was to be one of the highlights of the trip so was very disappointing.
As picturesque as it comes and set in a tranquil countryside, overlooked by mountains and fields. Grazing cattle grace your morning view as they move through the field grazing. Friendly staff, good food and local entertainment all add to the experience. Take a walk through the mountains with a guide and visit the elephants going about their daily chores and back along the river for some quiet relaxation while you mill over your morning photos. The route to the village is a bumpy one but well worth the experience. The sleeping accommodation is comfortable and quiet but can get a bit cold in winter (there is always extra bedding at hand). One of my favourite Thai places to visit and highly recommended.
Very hospitalable and scenic, very remote, but not for the luxury seekers, shared facilities, very small rooms, but a good taste of the region. We eat western style on the recommendation of our guide, and it was fine.
We just spent 2 nights at the lodge. This is a lodge in a very remote village that is accessible by 4x4 only, so don't expect a 5 star experience. The beds are simple but nice and the bath rooms are shared. I got a great night's slept there but do expect the roasters to wake you up early. The people running the place are very nice and helpful, although not much english, is it helps a having someone who speaks Thai along. We did a short 3 hour "trek" around the village. The trail was over grown and our local guide had to hack the over growth and clear the trail. Felt like we were back in time exploring a jungle. Our lunch was prepared by an abandoned elephant camp by the lady who does the cooking for the lodge. The food was prepared over a fire and in bamboo. Overall, i feel the a stay there needs at least 2 nights, 3 would be better. Its a relaxing place and a place where one can really explore nature in a Thai setting. ( there is wifi, but given the remoteness of the place, don't expect it work well. no cell reception)…
This place is certainly a special place. We arrived from the South on dirt bikes on a road that is easy passable during the dry season and can become difficultly during raining season. A great place surrounded by pure nature in a natural very quite and tranquile setting. Rooms are spartanic and small with shared bath room and toilette facilities. It is managed by a family living next to the main building. WiFi works stable however internet throughput is a bit shaky. Don't expect your YouTube is working smoothly but good enough for e-mail and FB. Food is a good and simple affair, again, you are there for the location and not because of the food. All together a great experience if you have the correct expectation. If you expect a 3 or 4 star hotel you come to the wrong place. If you want to listen to the stars and hang your soul into the wind you are just at the perfect place.…
