I walked into this hotel which is way out of the way in a nothing to do area, so you would think the prices would be less than tourist areas, "well" you cannot believe the food prices to say that it is disgraceful would be an understatement, I have lived in Thailand for 12 years and owned two bars in Koh Samui and Phuket this menu which is pub food on the western menu would be the most expensive ever,[EG pie and chips every place 180]in Samui and Phuket just look at these owners prices, you will get inexperienced tourists to love the owner but they are getting ripped off and are thinking oh Europe prices Ummm good to their prices, the Thai food is way over the top prices 3 times as much, so you want to give the stars to the owner but think at 1.600 baht for the night in an area that has nothing and the beach is not great at all

Stayed 4 nights with my 2 teenage children, wanted somewhere to just hang out and catch up. The bar / restaurant area was perfect for that; sea breeze kept mosquitoes away while we ate, and the sound of the waves was always there in the background for a relaxed vibe. RECEPTION We maxxed the pool table, which was useful for the kids when I was getting admin done at reception. Reception was competent and efficient, the Manageress Belle was always happy to help with everything from arranging a boat trip to fresh aloe vera for sunburn. Her local knowledge and conversational-level english made problems disappear. ROOMS All 3 rooms were quiet and clean with comfortable beds. Good quality sleep. Showers were hot, and powerful enough. FOOD Almost every mealtime was at the hotel, and my boys each ate 2 portions at lunch and dinner. The meals were normal sized, they just made the most of them. The fish and chips was a favourite, and the fish itself was big. BEACH The beach is constantly topped up with plastic (bottles, fishing nets) which the staff clear away regularly. There are sunbeds on the beach, but I'd advise hanging out at the pool for that instead because it's very well maintained: look at the sea, hear the sea, but just ignore the beach. We chose not to swim in the sea for those reasons, but we did have a great hour there messing around in the hotel's kayaks. Everything we need for a short-term stay is at The Lord Nelson; I intend making it a regular stay over the next year or so.

i have never stayed in this hotel, but been to their restaurant recently. have to say that this is top class. more than anything else is the stunning view as you take a seat overlooking the beach, you can actually feel the smell of the sea from here. perfect for a sunset. they have a nice breakfast menu which can be so inviting specially on weekends.
