I thought the Hotel was good and the facilities and little extras for people wishing to walk or cycle were also well prepared, ie; packed lunches, walking guides for three different levels of walks. Position was very favorable, rooms were clean, and the food was generally good and the staff were also helpful and pleasant . Did not think the... More

We took the long way walk from Braithwaite to Portinscale before heading into Keswick. My wife spotted the sign near to the boating area so we followed it. The Hotel is set in lovely grounds and we easily found our way to the front where there were a couple of tables free on the patio. First impressions were that the... More

The Derwent Bank is a lovely hotel on the shores of the Lake. We had a top floor room which was very clean and modern with nice views. Breakfasts were good . We didn't try the Evening Meals as we personally preferred to eat in Keswick where there was plenty of choice . We had a coffee in the cafe... More

I travel solo a lot and join up with walking and/or cycling groups. Derwent Bank is amongst my favourite places to stay and I will go back time and time again. The rooms have been recently refurbished, the bar and dining areas are very pleasant as is the conservatory. The views of the lake and the beautiful gardens make this... More

Lovely clean hotel in a fantastic location but unfortunately everything else was poor. I booked for two nights b & b basis for a romantic break with my husband, but the hotel does not cater for couples at all, we were told we could eat in the lovely restaurant in the evening but only option was a set 3 course... Stayed here mid August 2015 for 4 nights as part of a guided walking holiday. I had a single room which was small but adequate for 4 nights and clean. Some rooms have a view of the lake, but my room overlooked a lovely garden. My room was on the top floor, which meant walking up and down 3 flights... More

My partner and I stayed here for a week in mid June on an HF guided walking holiday. The hotel is beautifully situated with extensive gardens, including woodland, on the banks of Derwentwater. We paid a little extra for a premium room on the first floor with lovely views of the lake. It was a large room with a spacious... More

Having read some mixed feedback on this place I can assure people that this was an excellent hotel which offers an excellent chance to stay somewhere which is right on the edge of the derwentwater lake. We were greeted by staff at reception and offered much needed help to our room with luggage. Recommend a lakeside view room. The breakfast... More

Stayed recently for four nights whilst on an HF Trail holiday. Accommodation excellent, v warm, good sitting areas, lovely bedroom with views and tip top food.
