Do not confuse this hotel with the Gaustablikk Hoyfjellshotel - which is very much larger, modern and minimalist. The Tuddal Hoyfjellshotel has just 18 rooms but in a wonderful setting overlooking a large lake. The hotel dates from 1895 and has been run by four generations of the same family and retains its old Norwegian character. The public areas are...

Very simple to summarize - Fantastic service and the best food ever. Thanks for the great hospitality and "homy" atmosphere created by both staff & owners. Arrived to the first snow fall this year - Great wine & beer testing before an absolute delicious 9 course dinner.

Why stay anywhere else? A small, old building beautifully decorated with antiques. Staff makes you feel like home and the chef serves delicate food. In the small stream a natural outdoor pool is the place to cool down. After a dip heat up in the sauna. An old stove heats up the sauna

Fantastic - sums up the experience of staying at this lovely hotel. The whole experience was amazing. The old hotel has a lovely charismatic feel that is difficult to find in other similar hotels. The staff are very pleasant, helpful and full of charm (Mr Z). We stayed as a family in two rooms that were lovely decorated and comfortable....

Stayed here with my colleagues. The hotel is very small, with a limited number of rooms on each floor. The room was had furnitures and paintings that brought back memories hundreds of years back. The breakfast and dinner was local food and tasted delicious.

The food is excellent, and the service from this familyrun hotel is magnificent. Rooms is decorated indiviually with each room one theme. Try this for a relaxing and romantic getaway in a beautiful part of Norway if you...

Really nice dinner at this hotel. 4 courses of regional, local food made in the traditional way. Including local trout both raw with a cold tarragon sauce and smoked in a potato soup. In this area we did not find too many places with wonderful food, but Tuddal stood out from the rest. We also had lunch there. Traditional "rommegrot",...

This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in, there was electricity and water and there it stopped, it was like being in a Victorian home on steroids. The food was delicious and the wine package that accompanied it well chosen. One guest played the Moonlight Sonata while we sipped out coffee in sitting room which had stunning views...
