The hotel itself is great. Big, spacious, themed rooms for approx. $70-$80/night each depending on size. But we almost didn't get to enjoy the resort. I had friends coming to Ethiopia to visit and had made online reservations several weeks in advance for two rooms - Konso and Dorze. I received two confirmation emails showing that both reservations were complete....

Negash Lodge is just one and a half hours from Addis and provides a great break for the family with kids. The rooms are fantastic, each with a unique ethnic theme from the different nationalities of Ethiopia We stayed in the Sidama and Omoro tukuls, both of which are really beautiful. The tukuls are made with local material and are very...

We've been going to Negash Lodge (2h away from Addis Ababa) quite regularly and always enjoyed the place very much: it's quiet, located in a beautiful private park where one can admire monkeys, birds, tortoises and many other incredible animals, the rooms are done in style, the pool is great, the service is sometimes slow but extremely friendly and generally...

= disaster waiting to happen But let me start with the good things. There is a lot to like about Negash Lodge. The location is nice, only 90 minutes from Addis. The food is pretty good, while strong on the pasta / pizza side. The wildlife to observe is great: 2 different kinds of monkeys, some big birds I have...

I stayed here 3 times over 1 year, tried three traditional houses, Amhara, Sidamo and the last time Agnuak. The place is great for birdwatching. Breakfast is great. Surroundings should be cleaner. Pool has thermal water. Sometimes the appliances in the bathroom need to be checked.

We stayed at the Negash Lodge for a couple of nights while doing the walk/trek around the Wenchi Crater Lake (not to be missed, by the way). Overall, we found the Lodge suited our needs very well. The reception we received was warm, the staff in the restaurant were attentive and the food was very good. Our room was fairly...

...all of the facilities that they state they have were actually functioning. We stayed at the Negash Lodge as we were looking for a few days of chill-out time after three weeks of relatively bad experiences in Ethiopia. All in all, we would recommend the lodge as a great place to relax however in a similar vien to most of...

We spent two nights here. The first night a freak bathroom toilet explosion caused us to ask to change rooms. The office staff sent us to a room that had no hot water in one bathroom and no water at all in the other. We asked to speak with the owner/mananager and she called us and told us that she...

Although very basic, this is a nice retreat away for Addis and relaxing. The monkeys and other animals make it fun, and it's the best hot shower in all of Ethiopia. The naturally heated water at the pool is just the right temperature, not too hot and not too cold. The food is basic but safe and sufficient. Enjoy.
