This is my second time in Bali and we've stayed at the Kayumanis, COMO Shambhala, FS Jimbaran Bay, Ayana, and while I have enjoyed all of the aforementioned, FS Sayan is definitely my favorite of all. The photos don't capture the beauty of this property. It's simply gorgeous! Walking from the bridge to the lotus pond when you enter just takes your breath away. The rooms here are insane, we admittedly booked just a family suite as we weren't really impressed by the photos and didn't want to go all out on a villa since we would have one at FS Jimbaran, but I totally wish we did now. The family suite is spacious and beautiful. I also really loved the location of our room- it was close to everything. The view from our room was just perfect - you're totally immersed in the jungle and can see things like birds building nests in trees and all sorts of variegated butterflies. The fitness center has this amazing view of the jungle and the river. There's nothing quite like it. Outside of the fitness center are these 3 plunge pools (warm, hot, and cool plunge) and daybeds that share the same view of the jungle and Ayung River. I wish I could've stayed longer, as this is probably one of the more special parts of the property. We spent several hours just loafing here, getting wrinkly and enjoying the view and the sounds. The service here is bar-none. I mean, the service in Bali is amazing in general, the people here are beautiful and kind, but the FS Sayan takes the cake when it comes to service. They know exactly who you are, how long you're staying, what you like to drink, and are happy to assist you in even the most menial things. If you want to be spoiled, stay here. When we arrived, there were flower petals in the bathtub and "happy anniversary" written in flower petals and palm leaves on the bed. They also surprised us with a bottle of champagne and two pretty large desserts on our first night. Thank you FS Sayan for the most perfect stay in the most uniquely beautiful resort. I can't wait to be back!!

Admittedly I didn’t stay at Four Seasons at Sayan, instead I just called in for afternoon tea. It is truly stunning, with the beautiful lily pond entry and the established jungle outlook from the restaurant and bar. It was tranquil looking out over the gardens and river. The staff were lovely and even just coming in for afternoon tea they treated us wonderfully. Just the right level of attention, starting with the beautifully scented hand towels that were provided when we first sat down. Definitely recommended - hopefully I’ll be able to return and stay here.

My husband and I were blown away by our experience at the Four Seasons Sayan. We spent 11 days in Bali and spent the last 3 nights of our trip here and it was a wonderful place to do so. Pros: We booked 10 months in advanced and got a great deal on our room. For the price that we paid (which didn’t include breakfast) we felt like it was the best value of any hotel that we stayed at in Bali. We stayed in the 1 bedroom duplex suite and I’m so happy that we chose this room. It was so spacious. We considered upgrading to a villa, but that was definitely not necessary. We loved that our room was in such a convenient location, right next to the front desk, the terrace, the spa, the gym and the pool. The room itself was amazing. I loved the large closet space where you can store all of your luggage. I also loved that the room had 2 balconies and 1.5 baths. The room had all the comforts one could imagine. I also loved the large windows and shutters. It was perfect. And I am pretty hard to please! We stayed at other 5 star locations and paid a lot more money for hotels that were really nice, but the rooms didn’t offer the comforts and conveniences of the Four Seasons. The spa was great. Loved the staff there and throughout the hotel. I got a warm oil massage that was the best I had during my time in Bali. I the view from the hot tubs was amazing. The pool is gorgeous and so peaceful and the staff are all so friendly and attentive. There’s a shuttle that takes you into town and returns you to the hotel free of charge several times a day. The views from the terrace are just breathtaking. The design of the hotel is very well thought out and just gorgeous all over. Cons: The breakfast was good, but it was a bit pricey. Personally, I don’t eat a large breakfast, so it wasn’t really worth the value for me. If you’re like me you will get a better deal just ordering one item off the menu for room service for your breakfast. My husband on the other hand, loved the breakfast because he likes to eat a heavier meal in the morning. It would also be nice if they had more vegan options to choose from on the menu. The had lots of vegetarian options, but they were really lacking on the vegan side. The hotel is a bit secluded and far from town. It would be a bit of a long and unpleasant walk to get to Ubud due to the busy/crowded streets. You need to get a taxi or shuttle whenever you’re going into the center of Ubud, which can be a bit of a pain. But some people might see this as a plus and enjoy the tranquility and privacy that the hotel offers. There were also a couple small kinks with the room. The shower door didn’t close all the way. One of the 2 sinks didn’t drain properly. The wooden steps sometimes looked a little worn/dusty in the sunlight. One of the pillows on the couch smelled a bit sweaty. And there was a stain on the lounge on the deck. But, looking at the big picture, theses were very minor issues and I am very satisfied with what we got, especially for the price we paid! Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Four Seasons Sayan. It’s such a beautiful place and we would love to return one day! Thanks for the memories!

Located outside of Ubud, a touristy t-shirt shop town, this Four Seasons is an oasis in Bali. You turn off of a narrow road onto a nondescript driveway down to the entrance where you are greeted by name and treated to a welcoming ceremony. The hotel itself hangs on the side of a gorge overlooking a tropical river. The walkway to the stairs leading down to the reception desk it tends out over the gorge ending in a giant lily pond. The architecture is astounding. Service was perfect by a staff dedicated to making your stay perfect. We got a basic room which was a wonderful duplex with 1 1/2 baths, two terraces, a walk-in closet, sitting area/ living room, and huge master bath. Th views of the tropical river gorge were beautiful. Food here is very good and activities provided by the staff will keep you busy for as long as you stay. The one caveat would have to be that there are a lot of stairs and even though you can request a golf cart to shuttle you around, it won’t get you everywhere.

My family stayed at FS Sayan for 7 nights. We are return guests, and the magic and wonder of FS Sayan continues to capitvate the mind and enchant the heart. Even beyond the setting, which is stunning, it is the staff that elevates the Sayan experience to a different level. The genuine kindness and heartfelt smiles and service received is like no other we have ever experienced. The food is delicious. We highly recommend the seafood grill night. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The Spa is world class. We recommend services at the River Spa. We also highly recommend trying the Anti Gravity and Laughter Yoga. And the Sacred Nap and Sessions with Ibu Fera are a MUST!
