This place is heaven. When you stay here you have all that you need: nature, amazing views, privacy. The room is so nice and clean, the sheets and towels smelling amazing using their own signature fragrance. All the furniture is new, the bed is very comfortable equipped with mosquitoes curtains and room temperature is perfect. Sleeping here was therapy. The private pool is amazing and heated all the time. Dining area by the pool is very nice, you have beautiful rice field and amazing jungle views. The breakfast is healthy and delicious and also the coffee is very good. The accommodation is closer to Ubud, it takes 10 to 15 mins to get there by car (depending on the traffic) and the cost of a taxi is around 4-5 EUR. The people from the staff are so friendly, kind and very helpful. They treated us so warmly. We felt spoiled. They even helped us with a lot of recommendations. They also can provide outside services, such as transportation, dinner reservations, activities. We warmly recommend the hotel as it offered us one of the most amazing experience we have had so far in our many journeys.

The hotel was beautiful and the service was exceptional. Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. Our villa was a good size, designed well, and had a heated pool and a garden area. The resort only has 6 rooms so it is quite small and therefore feels more relaxing. Everyone was extremely accommodating to us for whatever we needed, including with food. It was our honeymoon, and they made it extra special by decorating the room and making a dessert for us. I have never experienced service as good as the way we were treated at Uma Kalai. My husband and I did many activities, and the hotel helped with some of them and did a good job arranging them for us. My husband also enjoyed the massage offered and I received a good manicure. They also were able to provide taxi services at any time. We definitely felt that we got a lot of value for the cost we were very impressed with here personalized service we received.
I highly recommend Uma Kalai for couples looking for a more intimate stay in Ubud that is surrounded by nature.

Beginning with the booking - Ms.Eka handled the whole process professionally and was quick with responses about food restrictions and services we would require.She was also very helpful even on her days off when we needed assistance from her in particular.
We stayed at the 'Jala' room, which was the largest suite in the property, with a huge patio, bathtub and walk in closet.
They provide unlimited treated potable water in the rooms and tap water can be used for brushing teeth! A rare offering in Bali.
Uma Kalai offers 24*7 butler service. All 3 butlers were excellent with their service and we also had enjoyable conversations with them! Special mention to Gusti for his excellent cappuccino, Adeh for his organization, and Dicky for his local insights. Overall, the service from all of them was beyond 5 stars.
We prefer Vegetarian food and the chef went above and beyond to cater to our meals- Vegetarian Balinese Please see the pics.
The car service for airport transfers and sightseeing are also well organised. Either with Rana (who is very good at his job! And even introduced us to some local delicacies) or they can also call you a cab from the local community- so absolutely no scope of getting cheated.
Our compliments to the house keeping staff as well. The room was always spic n span and down service was quick and efficient.
Small touches go a long way. We will be back soon!

My partner and I stayed at Uma Kali for our honeymoon, and it was, without a doubt, the best place we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, the service was unbelievable—every detail was carefully considered, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and pampered.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at Uma Kalai and I genuinely can't think of enough positive adjectives to describe the accommodation, the food, or the incredible team.
From the moment we arrived we were cocooned in an oasis of calm, and were able to fully relax knowing that we were in extremely capable hands. A WhatsApp group was set up so that we could communicate directly with the team at any time, and communication both before and during our stay was easy.
We stayed in the Bhumi (earth) Villa which has a separate living area as well as it's own pool/spa and steam room. There is plenty of storage space, the bed is extremely comfortable and the ensuite is huge!
One important note: Their bottled water was perfectly safe to drink :-)
There is no photoshop involved in the website images ... the location really is that beautiful. The service is immaculate and the whole team is cheerful, friendly and accommodating.
Special shout out to Eka & Nana (for their extraordinary coordination skills), Dedi & Rana (for their exceptional skills at navigating traffic and knowing all the shortcuts), Dicky and Ade (for their first class service of absolutely everything), Gusti & Tu De (for their superlative culinary skills in both both Western and local dishes), and Nonik and Yuni (the angels in the spa who seem to make time stand still in the absolute best way possible). The housekeeping team and groundskeepers and everyone else not specifically mentioned here all work incredibly hard to maintain the location - it really is paradise.

While traveling around Bali, I stayed at Uma Kalai twice in one trip. The reason is that it is a hidden gem located a little off the main road. The hotel is small, consisting of 3 private villas, without a view, but with a heated pool and garden, they are very suitable for couples who want to hide from prying eyes and enjoy each other's company. The hotel also has 3 rooms - one overlooking the pool, very small, and the other two larger ones, located one above the other, with a beautiful view of all the beauty of nature. I stayed in the Jala (water) room, it is located on the second floor and, in my opinion, is the best choice for those who like space and a good perspective. When you first step into this hotel, you feel right at home. The hotel team is absolutely charming and truly professional. It's a rare find where everyone works not only as a team, but as a family. Communication with guests is very conveniently organized through a WhatsApp group, which allows you to quickly contact any employee at any time. I don’t know how they manage it, but this place very quickly begins to feel like your home, from which you don’t want to leave. I recently stayed at Uma Kalai and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. We wereblown away by the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. The steam and bathtub in the room were a lovely added bonus, and the private pool was the icing on the cake. The nespresso machine in the room was also a nice touch.
The views from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking - overlooking the rice fields was such a tranquil experience. The team at Uma Kalai were incredibly friendly and helpful. They paid a lot of attention to detail and made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. They even gave us a list of recommendations for things to do (eg. Bali swing, quad biking and restaurants) in the area which we found very helpful.
The restaurant menu was also delicious - being a vegetarian, I found it easy to eat off their menu and was impressed by the variety of options available. The Spa also had a variety of treatments. Uma Kalai was beyond anything we have ever experienced. Aside from the amazing location and the luxurious villas with the high quality food, the Uma Kalai team took our experience to a whole new level. From the minute we stepped in to the lobby we were extremely well taken care of up to the tiniest detail of our everyday! This is one of those resorts that you want everybody to know about and visit because it's THAT WONDERFUL (but you also want to kind of keep it all to yourself because it's that special). We loved each and every moment at this resort. The villas are stunning and the property is beautiful. We felt so spoiled and pampered as every part of the stay is so detailed and thoughtful. We loved our meals, messages (the spa is so pretty), our yoga class (our yoga instructor was an amazing man!), the gym, the pool area, our driver - everything. And a special hello to Dicky, Gusti and Eka who are all so kind and helpful. There is not one thing I would have changed about our stay - it was just perfect. We even changed plans to stay one more night because we just didn't want to leave! I highly and enthusiastically recommend this resort to anybody visiting Bali and I can't wait to go back one day soon!
