This is the perfect place to re-evalute almost everything you have been doing in terms of diet, nutrition, exercise and vices! I seriously feel like my world pre Living Valley was slightly out of focus. Now, with a minium of tweeking and a better understanding of how my body works things have become crystal clear and comprehensible. initially I thought I'd spend a week reading and perhaps lose a few kilogramms. What I got was so much more. I have now established goals for the next three years and feel confident that they are achievable. Yes, there is a light touch of Christianity but it is not at all compromising. In fact it is rather charming. Only those who are intolerant could take possible umbrage. The meals are superb, the staff are dedicated and quite inspirational. I will definitely return for an annual 'çheck-up. I almost forgot... there are some splendid country walks that you can do.

The Living Valley Health Retreat exceeded our expectations. The staff was very professional, helpful and friendly - no wish or request was left unattended. Food and facilities absolute excellent. We booked the 2 bedroom accomodation at “Mango Manor” - private, peaceful with views over undulating hills Our 14 day stay was a perfect mixture of activities, treatments, and relaxation! We strongly recommend this unique and wonderful retreat to everybody with or without health concerns as a refreshment for body and mind! Uwe and Hilda Struenkmann

What an incredible experience I recently had at Living Valley. The care and attention to detail was fantastic. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, I had been feeling unwell and stressed for a long time .Detoxing was the hardest part before my visit. The organic food ,treatments and holistic approach was exceptional. I meet some fantastic guests who made my stay even more enjoyable It was great having everything taken care for me. The staff are so professional and caring.. I highly recommend Living Valley to anyone who needs to refocus and improve their general health. Can't wait to visit again.

This retreat has a lot going for it but it pushes a version of Christianity without disclosing on its web site or marketing material that guests will be exposed to this – grace over meals, literature in rooms and the guest bookshelf, and worst of all, handing out of ‘come to god’ books for departing guests. If this was made clear beforehand then, well, we make a choice to go or not. As it’s stands, I found it deceptive, inappropriate, and insensitive to guests who do not share this religious stance. If you go, be prepared to get a good dose of their version of god. If you are a vegan, it gets worse. On the positive, they cater well for vegans by way of meals, but the underlying and actively promoted ‘good diet’ has a big helping of animal products – red and white meat, and copious volumes of eggs and butter – and it’s a daily thing, not the occasional meal. My first visit with the retreat’s naturopath got a ‘where does your protein come from’ line and a suggestion I move to a vegetarian diet to ensure I get my protein fix. So no, outside of meals provided for vegans to eat, this is not a vegan friendly place to be. Also, keep an eye out for dubious claims about diet and wellbeing. A simple search of the research shows some dodgy statements being made as fact when they are far from it.

Thank you for your feedback. We are truly disappointed that your time with us was not what you expected. We would have appreciated the opportunity to share with you the journey of Living Valley, as we were once a vegan retreat. However, throughout the last 30 years, working with over 20,000 people, of which thousands have returned on multiple occasions, we have made adjustments to our program based on scientific research, guest feedback and experience. The role of animal protein and good fats in the detoxification of heavy metals, petrochemicals, organic solvents, pesticides and other fat-soluble toxins is well studied and backed by science. Our focus has always been results driven. Our treatment and detox programs have evolved over three decades to best support the healing journey of all our guests, producing thousands of positive outcomes. For as much as our core foundation and morals are based on no denominational basic Christian ideology, we do accept that we cannot accomodate all philosophies and personal beliefs. A short prayer before meals has always been accepted in Australia - even in our Parliament. Most appreciate it. We exist to provide the ultimate healing experience. The great majority of feedback has always been extremely positive. We are disappointed that you did not also experience a positive stay. We hope that you have achieved at least some level of improvement in your health and we wish you well. We are here for you.
