I notice they have now changed their website, but prior to my stay in April 2011, it clearly said that all rooms had wi-fi. As a business traveller staying overnight between meetings this was very important. I arrived to find that this was not the case. When i queried it with staff I only got a shrug. The TV was... More

Dear the_commondante, Thank you so much for taking time to leave your comments regarding your stay at Chewton Place for Aspire Venues, which is invaluable to us in order for us to look at ways in improving our service and venue. I am so sorry you understood there was Wi-Fi in all bedrooms. All our literature states that Free Wi-Fi... More

I think the previous reviewer must have stayed at a different hotel! The hotel setting is beautiful and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful upon arrival. The standard rooms are located in a separate building (Lodge) adjacent to the main house which although is not "regency" is certainly clean, modern and not unattractive. I think that for a room in... I stayed at this country hotel for One night during a business trip and it did not disappoint. The hotel is in a pretty rural setting half way between Bath and Bristol, a word of warning it is quite easy to miss the turning in the dark, it's a small country lane, as I found out!. When I did find... More

It's not often I'm compelled to write reviews - usually if very good or very poor - in this case very poor. We were booked as part of a wedding party - and when I looked at the website I was really excited about my stay. However, I didn't anticipate being out in 'the lodge' a rather grandly named outbuilding... More

The grounds and hotel are beautiful and give a great first impression. However, if you are unfortunate enough to be placed in the "lodge" accomodation, it's a big let down. The rooms are quite small and the beds tiny! the furnishings leave a lot to be desired. Pictures, lights, mirrors etc all hung asquew. Old TV with freeveiw not working... More

I need a room at short notice near Bath and at a reasonable price and booked this place through Laterooms.com. For the price it was excellent value. A clean bedroom, comfortable bed and a decent shower. There were dining facilities on offer for both evening and breakfast and what looked like nice grounds if the weather had been ok. I... More

We stayed at chewton place for a friends wedding and we have nothing but praise for this hotel!! I cannot believe some of the comments below....it's almost like we have stayed in a different place! The grounds are out of this world, so tranquil and calm, the staff were friendly, helpful, proffesional and the service was second to none. The... More

We stayed here whilst visiting our daughter at Bath Spa Uni. For us it was the perfect location as we didn't have to go into Bath each time to see her and face the traffic jams. We also could bring our dog who, loke us thought the grounds were stunning. We had a fantastic room in the main hotel -... More

Stayed for three nights and was surprised to be placed in the 'annexe' - had to wheel suitcase over gravel drive and negotiate the stairs (door to annexe wide open to all and sundry). Restaurant menu more like a bar snack menu - difficult to find a range of alternatives to avoid frozen fare so only ate in the 'hotel'... More

The grounds to the hotel are lovely, however, pretty much everything else was awful. The room was small, the decorating extremely basic and the whole place was filthy. We were in the seperate "lodge" part of the hotel and it was not remotely impressive. There is no room service and they just close the bar down for hours at a... More
