Second visit to Jose & Clara and they made us very welcome again. The food and wine were superb and Jose made our meals a great experience. Clara's cooking was delicious and her four desserts to share was a lovely end to each of our 3 evenings. Rafales is a beautiful village and being part of something from the 1570,s... More

My wife and I stayed here in spring this year. The medieval village is beautiful, but this tiny hotel was a highlight of the trip. The owners Jose and Clara were wonderful hosts and the food cooked by Clara and the wine chosen by Jose were as good as I've eaten in many expensive London restaurants. Jose was an enthusiastic... We booked after reading the reviews and were very pleased we did. A delightful hotel in a lovely village. The hosts were brilliant nothing too much bother food excellant. Breakfast was freshly cooked even the empanadillas. Couldn't do it justice and they even asked if we wanted to take some of the lovely cakes with us en route.

My wife, our 14 years old son and I stayed at La Alqueria for a couple of nights in July. The hotel, the village and surrounding areas all exceeded our expectations. The hotel was tasteful, with nicely decorated and clean rooms. The village had a real medieval charm overlooking the beautiful Matarrana river. A number of nearby medieval villages were... More

This small hotel is very welcoming. Jose was extremely helpful pointing us in the right direction of all the sightseeing that there is in the Matarrana region ( the "Tuscany "of Spain) The room was very clean and comfortable. Clara's cooking was very imaginative and excellent. We really enjoyed our stay.

We arrived on 3 motorcycles, wet and tired, to be met by Jose, with a beaming smile and warm welcome. The hotel is off the beaten track in a small, ancient Spanish village reached by winding, hairpin roads and through stunning countryside. The hotel is superb, modern and up to date. Our rooms - the family suite of two bedrooms... More
