My husband stayed in the Ditchburn room for 3 nights in September 2016. We were in town for a wedding and had booked the Rosseau based on a recommendation from the bride. We were not disappointed! The B&B has just the right combination of antique charm with modern updates. Our bed was super comfortable and rooms very well appointed. I... More

We've just spent 4 nights being looked after by the lovely Karen - our first trip to Canada and our first experience of a B&B (we usually stay at 4/5 star hotels) and we weren't disappointed! Lovely rooms, yummy home-cooked breakfasts and friendly banter with Karen, Roy and the other guests over the breakfast table made for a perfect place... More

We were fine with it, but important to know if you have any dog allergies etc, you should talk to hotel about it first. The guest room and the house... More

Perfect spot for stay over dropping kids to Muskoka Woods - Karen and Roy very friendly and the breakfasts are delicious. Rooms are beautifully done out, and enjoyed a soak in the claw foot tub. Excellent restaurant across the road. Beautiful countryside and garden - all in all a lovely B&B

Prior to visiting, I read the reviews on this site and I'm sad to say they did not match my experience at all. We arrived around 8:30 and were "greeted" at the door by two loud barking dogs. My husband is not a dog person and to see a large dog barrelling at him is just not a pleasant experience.... More

It is unfortunate that we did not exceed MarmaladeK's expectation for their visit with us at the Rosseau Retreat. We appreciate the feedback and will incorporate comments made greeting future guests and be mindful of noise on the main floor while guests are resting in their rooms. Our intent is for guests to have the R & R treatment -... More

Our stay here was the start of a six day getaway ... and we were not disappointed. The accommodations were beautiful and a lovely breakfast was served by our host Karen. I have already recommended this B and B to others and would like to return.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Take a pause in time as you enjoy the quiet solitude & spectacular natural surroundings of the Muskoka Lakes. Relax in the privacy and comfort of this inn style retreat located in the historic village of Rosseau. Rooms have the historic charm of yesteryear coupled with all the modern luxuries you could wish for. The B & B, constructed in the late 1800s stands as a proud reminder of the elegance of the Victorian era. Originally deeded to the Ditchburn family, the house was later occupied by the village doctor, who built on the spacious addition for his busy practice. Belinda and Joe purchased the home in 2006 and restored it to its historic beauty adding all the comforts of home. Only a two minute walk from Lake Rosseau and the newly developed waterfront beach, park, and piers, the Rosseau Retreat is ideal for weary travellers seeking escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Designed in the style of a turn of the century mercantile store, the open concept kitchen and dining room offer an opportunity for socialization over an elegant breakfast. For those seeking more privacy, arrangements can be made for breakfast baskets to be delivered to their rooms. Rooms may be rented individually, or arrangements can be made for exclusive use of the house. The Retreat is open year round for four season enjoyment.
