The Nature Reserve at Talamanca Reserve was one of the highlights of our recent visit to Costa Rica. The nature Reserve has incredible gardens, trails and waterfalls. The cabins were extremely comfortable and clean. The staff, especially Kenneth and the waitresses, were friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming and informative! We were able to take a tour in the golf cart with Kenneth and the primary forest was amazing! Kenneth is very knowledgeable about all of the plants, trees, birds and wildlife . Whether you just want to sit on a bench and observe the birds and wildlife or hike along one of the many trails that are marked, it is an amazing experience. The care taken with all of the gardens and different areas just to sit and enjoy nature were incredible. There were acres and acres to explore. The Nature Reserve staff are really committed to making your stay magical. We highly recommend a stay! The breakfast and dinners were delish and they also offer a full bar. You can have a meal on the outside deck and enjoy the birds that flock to the bird feeders right next to your table. It was truly an amazing adventure during our trip to Costa Rica. We would highly encourage travelers to enjoy this amazing Nature Reserve.

Absolutely friendly staff, delicious food (we ate all our meals here) and the garden is a joy to visit with lots of birds to see. Plenty of hiking accessible from the property so no need to drive once we had arrived. Best CR experience (we also stayed on the Pacific coast and central valley).

If you like to hike , eat great food, meet WONDERFUL people and stay in a cozy, clean cabin in the mountains...this is the place for you.Don't even think about staying in the other 2 nearby hotels. From the moment we arrived we knew we were in the right place to spend 4 nights. As everyone else has said Kenneth,Gina, and Jocelyn are some of the most welcoming, warm, friendly and genuinely sweet people I have ever met and I hope that the owners appreciate that they are reason enough to choose to stay at this hotel..The gardens are incredible here and they go on and on and on...and then on again. They have reclaimed acres and acres of old pasture lands and returned them to cloud forest once again .The results of many , many years of reforestation are amazing and should be acknowledged as outstanding and a true commitment and respect for nature . We were grateful that after all this work that they have opened it up to the public to enjoy. The cabins are artfully designed and decorated and are comfortable and spacious. They even have a private sitting area outside each one to watch the birds or just breathe in the beauty that is everywhere you look. The hiking to the waterfalls is great but you should be in decent shape and agile as lots of it is uphill or clambering over roots...(thank you Josue for leading us to the waterfalls and along the river). The river is gorgeous and the food here is wonderful as well. Thank you Kenneth, Gina and Jocelyn for taking the time to share a little bit of your lives with us. and making us so happy to be there. We loved it all. We feel very fortunate to have met you... .. Judy and the other Judy from California. .

Very nice restaurant for lunch. The food was good but a bit expensive for what you got. I had the chicken parmesan sandwich & 1 local beer for $18. Great views & plenty of birds to see. I would recommend.
