This camp is amazing. It sleeps maximum of eight people, and is one of four camps started and by the indigenous community of San José de Uchupiamonas in Madidi National Park, founded on principles of conservation for the land, flora and fauna, and unintrusive tourism. It is the furthest into the jungle of all the camps so feels incredibly remote and like you’re really in the thick of it. Our guide, Pedro, was brilliant - so professional, knowledgable, friendly, and so proud of where he comes from and the work he and his colleagues are doing to preserve and share their land, and protect its future. The accommodation is tents in raised platforms, which is perfect as you can literally zip out the bugs. Naturally you are in a jungle so there will be plenty around, but if you’re sensible you can keep a totally bug free tent. All accommodation, showers and dining areas were perfectly clean. The water for the basins and showers is cool - but this is because it comes fresh from a spring! And to be honest after a day’s trekking, a cool shower is exactly what you want. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is all included, as well as water, hot drinks and snacks. Food is DELICIOUS! There’s no alcohol but again, you’re in jungle conditions with two long daily treks - we found that this was the last thing on our minds. We wanted to be fresh! They made sure to check if there were any dietary requirements well before our stay, so they could prepare. We saw so many amazing animals and birds, and always felt totally safe with Pedro as our guide for the treks. In terms of airport pickups and drop offs in Rurrenabaque, this is all included. Pedro speaks perfect English and of course Spanish. It’s a challenging environment, but if you’re well prepared and keen to experience the jungle with the people who know it best, and love and respect the land, this is the camp for you. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The camps is located into the middle of the jungle in a remote area. It’s absolutely amazing place to experience the rainforest and wildlife. Perdo, our guide, taught us so much about local plants/animals. He also shared a lot about his native village and how his people use the plans in the jungle for medicine, jewelry, and clothing. Great place for wildlife watching.

Overall the trip was amazing (We booked with them through Nick's Adventures). The camp itself is phenomenal, Pedro is a brilliant guide, the food cooked by Rosie was amazing and the wildlife and viewing activities were great. However the community visit, which is the only chance to go up river, was not worthwhile in our opinion for the time and cost (50 USD per person). While it was interesting to see the village, there was no interaction with the villagers and the time could better of been spent tracking wildlife. Overall though, as I mentioned, Pedro is a great guide and the other staff at the lodge were all amazing. I just would skip the community visit.

We spent Four unforgettable Days deep in the Rainforest of the Madidi Nationalpark with the Guys from Beracco del Madidi. The Ecocamp is at the deepest point of the Madidi Rainforest, thats why we have seen Monkeys, lots of Parrots and tapirs and joined a really beautiful boattrip along the river. Our Guide Pedro helped us to see a lot of animals! He paid always attention and fulfilled our individual Wishes. We also had the feeling that the whole madidi Team is really authentic. We could benefit from the bright knowledge of our Guide about the species and medicine plants. We ate traditionally prepared fish in Bamboo leaves, built a traditional boat on which we floated along the river and created a traditional neckless. We felt all the time safe and well taken care of! Thank you Guys from Beracco del Madidi for the great time and great dishes! We can absolutely recommend this agency!

We spent three nights at the lodge in October, and cannot rate the place highly enough. (We booked through Nick's Adventures Bolivia, who are responsive and helpful, at no extra cost, which made the whole thing very easy.) The camp is beautiful and comfortable, and the jungle is, as you would expect, pristine. Guests have private, secluded living areas consisting of a tent, chairs, table and hammock, all covered by a palm-leaf roof, so you stay dry, comfortable and bug-free while really feeling close to the primary rainforest around you (being woken to the sound of howler monkeys in the morning is magical). But above all the service is excellent. Our knowledgeable guide, Pedro, was accommodating and enthusiastic on all of our many jungle walks, imitating cries and spotting well-hidden animals with ease. And the food was tasty and plentiful -- seriously, I can't imagine anyone going hungry here. I don't see how any other eco-lodge could be better, especially considering how far into the park Berraco is. Don't miss it.
