Came across this pub/hotel while looking for a quick lunch near to work. Ordered fish and chips and a pint of Bombardier for a total of £14.00 or so. The pint was nice, the food came out quickly enough, but the fish was bland and a little bony, also the batter was a little soggy. Nice portion size but left... More

On first arrival it looked really nice and the staff seamed friendly .when we got to the room it was very small and dated the bed was very uncomfortable and TV did not work as the areal lead ( which was coming down from the ceiling ) was to short to reach the TV . After tacking a shower in... More

I went here on a business lunch. Although the food is cheap it is very average. For a lunch time the pub was not at all busy. Many years ago it would always be packed out. Is this a sign of the times or a below average pub.

4 of us popped into The Tower Arms for a quick Monday evening meal. The food was very good and portions were big. We were served quickly by very friendly and efficient staff. We'll certainly visit there again.

Cheap was the only positive from my stay here. Room awfull, wouldn't have used the sheets for rags. Out of room toilet not welcome either. Food, not good, the mixed grill consisted of 1 small steak 1 piece of chicken and 2 sausages with the requisite mushroom, tomato and green leaves. Overpriced at £15.95 oh and fries!! The wine was... What an awful stay - shower didnt work , breakfast was as basic as you can get , even for a continental. Dated, well in need of some TLC, window in my room didnt shut as it was rotten, bed hard and uncomfortable - its cheap £62.50 but poor value when you compare other hotels that are far superior for... Stayed here on business and chose it to be close to my location for early doors. On arrival there was an issue with payment with the hotel claiming that they had not received details as they did not have a fax - abracadabra however the fax print out appeared however when I contacted my business. I was helped up to... More

The pub is really nice and cosy with a real fireplace.I had a cold pint and a really good jacket potato with homemade chilly. The waitresses were dressed as santa's helpers. All of that make us remember old times, when we was little, surrounded by family, this is like home sweet home. Here we felt the Christmas spirit.

Yes, the decor is a bit tired, but it's a characterful building. The food is remarkably good for the money - great value, especially some of the offers they have. Again, it is not gastropub standard, and ingredients are clearly budget driven, but the cooking is good. Pizzas in particular can be frankly superb! Service is friendly and good. Give... More
