Great holiday at this excellent hotel situated in a lovely area in Playa Pairiso. Large spotless rooms, with huge beds and balcony and very good bathroom facilities. Lovely relaxing areas around four pools with shaded areas to escape the heat of the sun if needed. Great entertainment team who work very hard to ensure everyone has a good time. Special mention to Patxi and Danielle who really make time to speak to everyone and are great fun.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at the Riu Buenavista, we had an amazing time for our daughters first holiday. The staff couldn't do enough for you, always made the effort to chat and talk to our baby. The hotel is immaculate and the covid measure in place make you feel very safe. Checking temperature and hand sanitisation before entering the restaurants, the drinks were great and a fab choice. Food was lovely too, some comments mention it been repetitive but think that is to be expected at an all inclusive resort. Was freshly cooked and a good choice. The 3 restaurants were lovely too we visited then all. There are a lot of sunbeds but you do have to get up to get one in the sun about 7.45. The manager was so friendly and couldn't do enough for us, we managed to get us in one of the restaurants when we were struggling and was always asking about our stay and checking all ok. We didn't want to leave yesterday and could of stayed another few days. Well Done Riu 👏

This was our first abroad trip since covid after many cancellations, and this hotel was fabulous! Spanish rules are different to those in England/Scotland/ Wales NI, Ire and masks are mandatory in all indoor public areas of spain as well as enclosed areas like shopping centres. You are required to wear a mask in all areas of the hotel, indoor and outdoor unless seated or using a sun lounger or the pool. So walking around indoor or outdoors, you need to wear a mask and this is enforced. There are no exemptions either to this in Spain at all, but if you can manage on a four and a half hour flight, you'll be fine. Check in was quick and simple after our TUI flight and transfer, make sure you have the TUI app as everything you need is on there, including your transfer times and coach numbers. Reception kindly booked us into Atlantico, the grill restaurant. Reception will also print out your travel documents such as your negative test result, PLF form and anything else by emailing the hotel. We had a room facing the front of the hotel which gave us amazing views of the hills and of Mt Teide. The rooms have a bit of a strange entrance to them, the first three numbers of your room number take you to a little hallway where there are two rooms, and the last number will be a 1 or a 2, like a flat. One thing i will say is smoking is not permitted anywhere at all in this hotel, not by the pools, bars etc and security were even moving people away from the entrance of the hotel. In my opinion this is a good thing, as the smell is horrendous walking past it. Food has been a bit of a mix of opinions on these reviews. Spanish all inclusives are never going to match Mexico or Carribbean Islands, however the food here was really good. There are 4 restaurants, all buffet style but consist of: Yaiza (main buffet), Atlantico (grill), Mandalay (asian) and Dolce Vita (Italian). If you wish to eat in any of the speciality restaurants you need to book them in advance. The Grill can be booked same day as it's much larger than the two, and if you like sunsets, book the 8pm slot and sit on the terrace. Dolce Vita and Mandalay need to be booked within the first couple of days of your arrival, or you simply won't get in as they're very small. We ate at all but the Asian restaurant and the pool snack bar. Atlantico had Veal steaks, chicken, grilled sausage, paella, grilled fish etc with plenty of variety. Yaiza have themed nights and the one night we ate in there it was asian themed with beef noodles, chicken curry, chicken teryaki etc. It was not just pork every night like alot of Spanish AI's! The italian offered a good selection of food including pasta, pizza and even Octopus! But why no Bruschetta or garlic forcaccia when even the artwork on the wall has brushetta on it! The italian also has the best desserts! Breakfast for us as an English couple was a little disappointing as there are no hash browns, and only frankfurter sausages (not proper ones!), even though they offered sausages for dinner. Playa Paraiso is a small resort but two beaches are reachable from the Hotel, one small beach to the left when facing the pools, and one to the right walking over the hill next to the banana plantations. There is a little strip with shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants, La Terrazza did amazing pizzas. Taxis to Las Americas are around 18 Euro, Costa Adeje was 13 euro each way and were around 10-15 mins away. This hotel has 6 pools in total and thousands of sun loungers, you really do not have to reserve them here. You can get a sun lounger at any point during the day, if you couldn't at one pool, there was always another one you could. The adults only pool is where we spent all of our time, no music, no kids, no animation team trying to get you to join in, just relaxation and the bar staff will make their rounds occasionally with cocktails! All pools a nice temperature. The titanic pool held water aerobics classes and the activity pool had the giant inflatable balls you ran on the pool in and a magic carpet where you run on the water. They had a baby pool and a kids pool with a little water park with a bucket that tips water everywhere. Pool towels can be collected between 9 and 5 every day with the cards given to you on check in. If you fail to hand your towels back after 24hrs or you loose your cards, it's 10 euros. Self service alcohol such as Cruzcampo Radler (lemon larger, strongly recommended), Amstel on tap, sangria, white red and rosè wines as well as soft drinks, juices, water and hot drinks. Cocktails ordered from the bar, i recommend a fruit punch mocktail with some gin in it! La gomera (the pool bar nearest to the adults pool) is a great place to watch the sun setting behind La Gomera (the island). The entertainment consisted of duets every night, kareoke and such but we ventured out mostly so can't really comment but from what we heard when around the hotel, we've had much much worse in other hotels. Download the RIU app and it will tell you what's on around the hotel, a map to show where things are, even requesting things like soap, towels, bed linen etc. If you want your bed changing you need to display the card found on the bedside table and place it clearly on the bed. One thing is that the beds do not have duvets, they are a thick sheet and an under sheet, not a fan of this at all personally. Safe was free to use, just leave unlocked for the next guest. All in all a fantastic stay, a hotel we'd come back to if back in Tenerife.

Hotel is nice. Clean and room are very modern. Staff are awful, lazy workers and it shows. Staff are rude and not helpful to any issues that arise. For example, problem with a phone they can not even locate a repair shop big we had to figure out ourself. Excursions they did not have a clue or any advise. Just seems lazy

Tldr: very nice hotel with great rooms, pools, space, food, and staff. Great views and will fit everyone's needs. A bit far away from activities outside the resort, and sometimes a bit crowded in the restaurants. 9/10 would love to stay here again. Pros: Nice, large and very clean rooms, also properly isolated against the music. A great view of the sea and La Gomera, Good service at the reception, restaurants and bars. Very nice people. Food is prepared well, A lot of choice for food every day, Possibility to eat and drink throughout the day (three meals, snacks, drinks including alcoholic), Good, clean and large enough pools (2 general salt water pools, one child pool, 1 salt water adult-only pool), A lot of choice where to sit, Little shopping mall at 5 minutes away for with a supermarket and drugstore. RECENT photos give an accurate representation of the quality (except for the size of the pools, which is still more than enough) Cons: Pretty remote from activities outside of the resort, so you will need taxis or prearranged transfers. Transfers can take a long time (1 hour) if you need to pick up people from other hotels, There are often too many people for the restaurants and evening entertainment area, Variation in food from day to day is sometimes a bit small, but it varies, Because of our short stay, we weren't able to make a reservation for a themed restaurant.
