After finding out our b&b had not booked us in when we had travelled up to Northumberland for a two day fishing trip we rang the Red Lion Inn at milfield near wooler and luckily enough they had spare capacity to take us. When we arrived at this quint pub the staff were really friendly and polite. We were shown... More

Go...food is fabulous......homemade steak pie with suet crust....yummmmmmmmm! Friendly and welcoming....very much restauranty rather than a pub for a pint which is a shame but worth going for food. Good choices on menu....oh and sunday carve, while pricey compared to others locally, is very very nice...book though

What a find this was. Out for a meal on Saturday lunchtime and the pub we had planned to visit was closed. Wandering around the country roads to see what was available in Wooler we stumbled upon the Red Lion in Milfield about 5 miles nw of Wooler. My wife had chicken stuffed with Haggis and I had roasted belly... More

We enjoyed a great stay at this friendly pub with fabulous new rooms recently added in a separate building at the back. Would certainly recommend, particularly if you are in the area for walking, fishing or other activities - they are in the process of building a drying room for wet gear.

Top class food and an excellent choice of real ales , the new lodges were great for anyone enjoying the great outdoors. Ian and his staff made me feel very welcome and I have already booked the lodges... More

I went with three friends ( one of whom is French) last week for a three day fishing break on the River Till. The Red Lion ( where I had coincidentally had a light lunch last year) was recommended to me by the fisheries manager. Run by Iain and Claire, the pub comes with hospitality in abundance. Staff ( and... More

I can honestly say the food here is fantastic, just under £11 for steak pie, home made chunky chips and pies which is all good but I would pay that just for the pie never disappoints, however the customer service is very poor but the food makes up for it.
