I stayed here for several weeks in October/November, and had a very pleasurable stay. While the interior is perhaps a little faded, the rooms are (bar one that I was in) a good size and comfortable. I always slept like a log. The staff are pleasant and helpful, and the food is excellent. I wasn't disappointed with anything I had....

Please don't bother unless completely desperate. For the price it is pretty awful. Not been cleaned for a very long time, mostly grumpy staff and an overall bad experience. If they put a bit of effort into tidying and cleaning could be amazing venue. I have never actually written a bad hotel review before, but actually felt obliged to inform...

We arrived Thursday evening after a very long journey, it's a pity we weren't welcomed with a smile and a few words, the keys were distributed in almost total silence by the proprietor, our rooms were nice but freezing cold, the bed though was very comfortable. The kettle was on a tray on a table but had to be put...

A lovely old house with lots of history, not modern but interesting and the food is excellent. The surrounding houses from the 1800s, it would seem someone built a house and the neighbours would build a bigger and better one, it's like going through a time warp.

The hotel itself is fairly remote. We arrived at 9.30pm and the kitchen was closed. We googled for the nearest place to eat and the result showed some takeaways 1.9miles away. It turned out that this calculation was as the crow flies across the water. Actual driving distance would have been a 16mile round trip. To begin with a positive...

Potential..bags of potential. It's a lovely, large, imposing listed building and it is obviously a work in progress. I enjoyed listening to the owner tell me about the history of the house, the work they had done undoing 1970's architectural vandalism, and what was planned i.e.refurbishing the second floor imposing residents lounge, I got a peak and it is/will be...

This is a very tired, dated hotel. It is reasonably good value for money (we paid £85/night) but it does currently have a lot of shortcomings. The room we stayed in was actually wonderful in many ways - amazing views, huge bay windows and high ceilings. But the decor was twee and dated, the bed was very soft and uncomfortable,...

My family and I booked the hotel last minute for a 1 night stay. What can I say the hotel is very dated it has some wonderful features but this hotel is very dated. From what the owner told me it is being updated but this was not value for money, it is very faulty towers, during the late evening...

The man who checked me in was unfriendly which got off to a bad start. The room smelt of mold, there was mold in the bathroom and in the room on the ceiling and around the window. I couldn't open the bathroom window. The bed was terrible, the mattress must be very old as it felt as if I was...

Booked via work and despite confirmed booking hotel owner denied he had received it. He was really unfriendly on arrival and said he would make a room available for us. He also mumbled a very nasty word under his breath at which point I asked him to repeat this, which he didn't. This took 25 minutes. He didn't offer an...
