My wife and I were seeking alternative accommodation while visiting my mother in Canterbury. Having suffered the same old hotel rooms from the normal suspects, we were searching for something a little more enjoyable to relax in. Searching Trip Advisor I came across the Gardener's Cottage. What a find! Anne and Rob are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much... More

Stayed in The Stables, beautiful cottage with fantastic patio and garden. Welcome hamper with bread, eggs, biscuits, milk, marmalade and bottle of wine. Nice toiletries, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc, Anne and Rob had thought of everything. The cottage was clean and comfortable and a good peaceful nights sleep in a comfy bed. Handily located with Canterbury, Broadstairs, Margate,... More

We stayed for 3 nights in this stunning property. Perfectly located for trips to Canterbury and the coast, with great facilities nearby (Gibson's Farm Shop). Anne and Rob have thought of everything! A really lovely stay.

Almost certainly the best cottage we have ever stayed in - fixtures, fittings, equipment were all first class and hosts Anne and Rob, seem to have thought of everything. A lovely welcoming pack, including Easter eggs, and the location was ideal, easy to get to Canterbury Cathedral for Easter Sunday service. Storm Katie meant a planned trip to Dover Castle... More

We have just returned from a few days away staying in The Stables at Shatterling House. This was the perfect location for us as we attended a wedding at nearby (5 minutes) Preston Court. The cottage was everything and more that was described and our hosts made sure that we everything was provided-even a welcoming bottle of wine. We paid... More

We stayed at the Stables for a week, while taking short bicycle tours around Kent. I would absolutely recommend this as a self catering cosy cottage for two with all modern amenities and great location for exploring beautiful East Kent. We were met on arrival by Anne who showed us around the Stables and explained how everything worked and was... More

This is a great place to stay, Anne and Rob are truly a lovely couple and the cottage is first class. They haven't stinted on anything. Perhaps the main thing is the bed a really comfortable one, giving you a really good nights sleep and so being refreshed the next day. But then everything else is the best, they really... More

We stayed in Gardeners Cottage which was very cosy and pretty with a lovely back patio and garden to enjoy. The cottage is 18th century on the outside with all mod cons on the inside, losing none of it's cottage charm. The dish washer was a real treat too! Upon our arrival there were flowers in a vase, a hamper... More

We stayed in the Stables cottage. Anne and Rob had thought of absolutely everything. It has been finished to an excellent standard- it is absolutely lovely. We didn't want to leave. Our hosts were very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble- they'll even get you food if you don't feel like cooking or there is a fantastic organic farm... More
