We stayed at Polarcamp with our buscamper in september. It is a lovely and peaceful campsite with stunning views. The owner is friendly and made us feel very welcome right away. The owner made a lovely wooden romantic cabin on top of a mountain with a fireplace where you can hike to (amazing walk!). Highly recommended!
The experience really good for the price (~25 EUR for a tent). There is a restaurant where the food is great in quality and quantity;) And the best was that the camp was full of Reindeers just walking by, minding their own business.
We came at midnight asking for a place to tent, but the owner (upon seeing 3 little boys in our car, and the stormy weather) offered us a hut instead. He didn’t just give us the cheapest hut that we would’ve expected - he gave us a really nice apartment with shower, kitchen, 2 bedroom etc for a very good price. Then he gave our boys free juice to enjoy the next morning!! All while patiently answering all the questions from the boys, and all with a smile. Upon leaving he came out to chat and wish us a good travel! The beds were comfortable, the apartment was clean, simple and nicely furnished. The placing is beautifully located - we would’ve loved to spend a few days here. We will definitely come back here, and we highly recommend this place! Another bonus for the traveler going further north is that you can see the ferry coming in and it’s only 5 minutes to drive to the ferry port.…
wonderful people in an incredibly nice place! the cottage was reasonably priced and incredibly nice with everything we needed! recommend people and come here! Just a short walk to a lovely vantage point! we will return next year
During our Norway trip a few weeks ago we had not very good weather. It has been raining for days and stopped just for some hours. When we drove through Helgeland on our way to the Lofoten we took some pictures of the sea. Suddenly a rainy storm started and forced us to look for a place to stay. Instead of heading back to Mo I Rana we decided to try the other direction with a ferry at its end. When we saw the sign of Polarcamp in 8km we were very happy. We arrived at the real end of the road and there was the campsite. We asked for a free cabin and even got one. The owner even showed us some videos of the nearby landscape, gave us some hot coffee and took us on a virtual walk over the area. Very kind of him. Also the cabin was very clean and equipped with two beds, a small kitchen, dishes, a sofa and a heater. From the window you have a great view on the ocean and some islands. The toilets and showers are in a nearby cabin and the water that comes from a glacier is, so said by the owner, the best and cleanest water in the world. It was really good. You can find a certificate for clean water at the reception. Check-out the next morning was easy- just throw the keys in a box and you can leave. Thanks for the great and friendly service. We are sure that we will return soon. …
We enjoyed two excellent days in one of the family cabins near the main building. The cabin had a nice layout and a spacious terrace facing the sea and mountains. A simple but very tasty fish meal was offered us on the evening we arrived. We had a bit of luck because the tour boat for sightseeing along the Nordfjorden & Meløyfjorden was running the day after. Friendly staff gave us nice advice for some walking in the area. The best place we stayed along our Coastal Route journey. A place we would like to visit again some time.
3 weeks in Norway - Polarcamp was definitive the best and beautifulliest place! Best Fishing, best boat rental, best Service ... best Boss 😄. Thank you for preparing us the Midnight Sun! And that you sent us to the whale and the waterfall!
Good service, perfect place to stay. Sleep in your Rent or stay in one of the huts by the coast. Rent a boat or just book a trip. It's up to you to. Ståle will do his best to give you good advise. Nature is waiting out there. I'll definitely will be coming back for a boat trip! :-)
I have been for one night at the Polarcamp on my walking way from Norkapp to Cape Town. Wonderful people and wonderful place. The cabins are clean and the food well done. I would come again and stay here.
The campsite is located right next to the fjord and is very beautiful. The cabin itself was close to perfect: clean, comfortable and with all the facilities we needed. The reason for only 4 stars is that we spoke to them on the phone and reserved a cabin earlier in the day however when we turned up the cheaper cabin had been taken and we had to pay for one well out of our budget. So yes I would certainly recommend staying here, it's lovely, just be careful you get what you asked for.
