#2 of 5 Specialty lodging in Madawaska
4 one room log cabins on the waterfront are cozy and clean. Fully equipped kitchens, good double beds, picnic tables and firepits. Electric heat for spring and autumn adventurers. Sand beach on site, waterfall 1 km upriver. Relax, unplug, unwind! The land that time forgot is close to Algonquin Park (21 km), and has a lot of the same features in the area. Wildlife/bird watching, hiking, fishing, canoeing, berries and mushrooms in season. 85 Km of contiguous waterway; Moore's Creek, Madawaska River, Bark Lake. Central washrooms with hot showers and flush toilets. 40 campsites are large, for families and groups. 8 have electricity and water hookups for trailers. Excellent cell, 4G reception from nearby tower. This is nature's playground, no swings or slides required. Pack your toys, leave the noise, and come to where the wildlife isn't human! Note: these are housekeeping, or self-catered, units.

Think twice before booking with these people. The worst customer service ever. I was trying to reach these guys over the phone and book a cabin. I believe it was Sandra over the phone with me. She was very unprofessional and rude. She said that I called her 7 times disturbing her and didn’t let her to talk to other people. She was very rude and when I said her that it is unprofessional to talk to your customers this way she hang up on me. Needless to say that I never book anything with these guys.

It was a very busy time, with people in the grounds, emailing, and phoning. I was trying to respond to phone calls in order of messages left when a caller broke in, and I put someone on hold to talk to her. I had 7 phone calls on my handset from that phone # within an hour, one message. All I asked for was a little patience, because I was getting to her in her turn. Her calling so many times made it difficult to find other numbers on the call display. I do that to save time, so I do not have to write them down, I listen to the message and look for the number so I can hit the button and call back I am not keen on the instant gratification society. Other businesses cater to it. If you don't slow down here, you miss a lot. BTW, I am not a guy. Also, there is one of me. Yes, I am Sandra. Thank you for your viewpoint. Personally, I think if you haven't stayed here, there should not be a review. It's like giving someone a bad rating because they had nothing available for requested dates, as was the case. Funny, that was not mentioned? Also, thank you for taking the time to make an account so that you can smear my business. This is your only review.

Sweet little hidden gem!! We started out in a tent but the weather forecast wasn't looking very good... Owner Sandra got us into a cute little cottage, right on the water! Rustic beauty at its best, 3 great days , beautiful views, wonderful swimming , who could ask for more!! Thanks Sandra, your place is awesome!!!

We stayed here from Friday to Sunday in our camper. We were greeted by Sandra when we stopped to register. She then took us for a walk to find the perfect site for us. She was very helpful. Good natured lady. We payed and went to our site. The campsites are a great siZe. There are wash up sinks and grates for the fire pits. We had complete privacy. Only time we seen her was when she was refilling the toilet paper. We will be back and bringing friends with us. Please don’t believe the reviews. Some people expect the Hilton when going places. This is the perfect place to get away. Loved every minute.

Thanks for ringing in. I love how everyone has a completely different experience here. It wasn't a crowded time, but there were a lot of campers in the park those dates, so I am glad you had a sufficient feeling of privacy. Experienced campers know how to set a site so they get the best of it anyway. Hopefully you will be back soon and stay longer. Bring friends and family. Tell the world! Oh, you did, at least you told the TripAdvisor world. Thanks again!

We stayed in this beautiful cabin for the Thanksgiving Weekend. What a wonderful time we had! This place is so cozy and inviting! We enjoyed sitting on the front garden overlooking the serene and beautiful Bark Lake. The weather might be gloomy but the peacefulness and postcard beauty of the place more than compensates the not-so- good weather. We look forward to visiting again. Another plus, the owner, Sandra is so helpful and accommodating.

We are newcomers to Canada and went to this camping for September long weekend. We had our tent at the waterfront and enjoyed beach, fishing and mushroom hunt. Evenings with barbecue on a fire pit were great too! Sandra (owner) is a clever and attentive host. I recommend this place for out-of-city escapes with kids and pets!

Thanks for your kind words. It was a pleasure to have you. Wasn't it great that you met someone from your home town, who is also a recent arrival to Canada? And your husbands have the same first name! It's a small world here in Madawaska. This is not the first time such coincidences have occurred. I hope to see you again soon.
