Our hosts, Deirdre and Gibson, greeted us warmly and were very helpful during our three days there without ever being obtrusive; they are both Islay natives who know their island well. The room was spotless and comfortable and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed and more--free water and bottles of Irn Bru. The breakfasts were exceptionally good and served in... More

A very quiet place with extremely friendly hosts. A delicious breakfast with eggs from their own chicken. Very good tips on how to spend the day. Excellent views. Great to have a fridge for the guests with water and to store some food! Highly recommended.

Lyrabus B&B is only a few minutes drive from Bridgend and is ideally placed as a central location for exploring the Island Of Islay. I was made very welcome by my hosts Gibson and Deirdre, accommodation was first class and I had a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Breakfast was also excellent. Highly recommended!

I was cycling around Islay and stayed a night at this B&B in Lyrabus. I got thier early so I could drop of my panniers and then i headed of around the Rhinns. The accomodation was excellent and the breakfast was very good indeed. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this B&B to all. Several Highland... More

Ideal location in the centre of Islay suitable for visiting all the distilleries during the recent whisky festival ( Feis Ile). Gibson and Deirdrie, both born and bred on Islay made me feel extremely welcome and were a wealth of local knowledge. The accommodation was absolutely brilliant and the breakfast each morning, legendary with a view from the dining room... More

Whilst the weather was hardly perfect, everything else about our 3 night stay on Islay was - and particularly our choice of B&B. Maybe a little remote for some, being 3 miles from the nearest village, this was fully compensated by the views and the accommodation. Very comfortable and well equipped rooms. Deirdre and Gibson proved excellent hosts, and breakfast... More

Faultless hospitality and superb breakfasts. Deirdre and Gibson are marvellous hosts, and so knowledgeable and proud of their wonderful Island. Spotlessly clean with comfortable beds, complimentary fresh milk, bottled water, and Irn Bru in our own small fridge made our room stay so comfortable. Be aware this is not a place to watch TV as reception is not great Tips:... More

We (2 couples) stayed at the Lyrabus Croft for three days but we got a warm welcome. Its tricky to find the place, A small metal rooster shows you`re right. The room was very spacious and we had an extra bathroom. The room was very clean and offered a spectacular view over the Isle of Islay. Dierdre and Gibson cooked... More

We stayed at the Lyrabus Croft for only two days but we got a warm welcome like we were a part of the family. Its a little bit tricky to find the croft, but when you know where you have to turn (before the bridge, half way to Bruichladdich) it is no problem. A small metal rooster and a blue... More
