We spent a great holiday here with our family. 2 adults and 2 childeren (age 6 and 8). Showers and bathrooms were clean. About 5 km from the beach so it's a lot more laid back than the camping sites on the seaside which was nice. The pool is clean also and the perfect size and dept if you are travelling with smaller childeren. The staff was also very helpfull and no they did not pay me to write a good review.
very good for families ! clean and quiet camp. new bungalows. located on the hill, 10 min by car to the beach and old town. 6 min to supermarket. Nice view of the see bay form the pool. frendly staff. could be a shop at the camp.
Avoid this place! The owners are rude, unhelpful and incredibly jobs-worth. The owner who runs it with his mother is rude to anyone not French even if you speak the language. They are also strangers to the notion of customer service. We were told that we had to clean our caravan at the end of the stay - which we did - including the fridge. Then as we were leaving to go to the airport the extremely officious manager said that the cleaning wasn't good enough and we hadn't wiped down the doors! He was quite prepared to make us late for our flight. The campsite is nice but way too crowded. Impossible to get in the pool or a seat by it unless you are there very early. Also not very clean - presumably because they rely on guests to do the cleaning rather than employ people. Anytime we asked for some advice or help we were met with total rudeness. AVOID…
Nice camping for visiting the South of France. Suitable for people seeking a quiet, clean place. It has parcels for tents, caravans and also mini homes to rent. Also a pool, but haven't visited it, since we preferred going to the sea. There is a small shop inside the camping, selling bread and pastry in the morning. (order for these must be placed the day before). It is guarded day and night. While camped there guests must wear the bracelet they receive at check-in. Apart from the overall setting, I mostly liked the tall trees, growing in interesting inclinations on this hilly ground.
We had a very pleasant stay with our caravan. Beautiful view of the hill towards the see! The camping is a terras levelled site and has touring pitches between semi fixed caravans. The pool was great, certainly because it was very hot this period of the year. In the environment there is lots to visit, unfortunately our first week due to fire risks there were some attractions closed.
Went there for 5 days with some friends, the place is so peaceful and quiet, the mobile home was spotless and the staff were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble the bar is excellent as was the food. I would definitely go again
Super nice campsite. Been here twice in May. Super weather start of seasin so not crowded at all at the beaches. Water is chilly so take the wetsuits but sun is warm. For kite surfing, bodyborden and wave surfing even wind surfing its game on. Camping is nice for children. Small restaurant ping pong playground. Behind the camping is an omni aports area with tennis fields as well. Take the route the crete amazing and visit the calanques the 2 nd by foot is amazing.
We arrived out of season with our large motohome (8m) - the campsite is not really suitable for large vehicles. We had little choice and the one site we could fit in had no access to electricity or water. Note: any water on site is supplied by auto release taps with no fittings so an attached water supply is not possible. Ceyreste village is a 1km walk down a very steep hill. It is a lovely village with a few cafes and small general stores but nothing more than that. The beach is 3km down the same very steep hill (so there's the same very steep walk back up!). La Ciotat is 6km away and by taxi costs 20 euros each way so be prepared to pay if you want to go out for some supper. All in all a quiet site with clean ablution block, small supermarket, cafe and very nice pool. Staff are ok to deal with - not rude but not super friendly either.…
We arrived at the site without a booking at around 14.30 & found the reception very busy( suggest arriving later if not booked). After a little confusion & a short wait the very helpful staff took me on their run around to look at a pitch to ensure I was happy with it ( & our 7.5m motorhome would fit on ) we were booked in. The site is not large but well laid out with a pool, bar, shop,& food all of which are good. The site is a little remote for motorhomers but the village of Ceyreste is only a short walk away ( down a very steep hill which you obviously have to come back up)& has all the shops & cafes you will require. All in all a very pleasant & relaxing site.
We have been staying at campsites, all over France, for over twenty years and they have a justifiable reputation of being far superior to those in the UK. All the ingredients were there at Ceyreste, they (with the exception of the pool) just seemed a bit half hearted. For example there is a lone table tennis table, but you need to have brought your own bat and ball and the shop sold bread but not croissants! We knew space was at a premium the closer you got to the Med. and the site is not a large one but it is difficult to see why the four stars were awarded. I'm guessing the pool clinched it - it looks very new and swanky, but we weren't tempted to take a dip as it was always crowded and my husband was instructed that he had to wear speedo style swim wear - trunks would not do - not very dignified for someone in their sixties! Other reviewers have pointed out that everything had to be paid in cash and we did not realise this until we got there. This does seem strange in the 21st century, and annoying as I had carefully calculated how much cash I would need and put some extra to pay the site on a Euro debit card (great idea Post Office) but it would have incurred a charge to withdraw cash on it. They also insisted on a 200 euro cash deposit against damage (quite often these are overlooked, especially when you book your mobile rental via an agent, as we had). We had already paid a holiday deposit by debit card so they had something to secure our stay with them. On the whole we just found a lack of trust and of friendliness which was disappointing to say the least. Maybe we are getting too old for campsites, but I just hate going around with the obligatory wristband (they watched me to make sure I put it on!) that seems to be on the increase, and identifies your status as a camper to all and sundry - not a good look in a posh restaurant! The mobile (a "super Venus") was adequate for for our stay, but the crockery is geared towards French users so we wished we'd brought a kettle and some mugs with us (tea just doesn't taste right from a bowl). I discovered that all the plates etc. were in need of a proper clean before use. There was just about room for the car on our pitch with some careful parking. If we hadn't had a deck attached we would have felt a bit cramped. This is also the first place I've been charged for (not very efficient) wi-fi - 15 euros for a week. Ceyreste is a delightful sleepy little provencal village which is gradually being encroached on by the busy town of La Ciotat.…
