This is the place for you who likes silence, wonderful scenery, great service, very good food and no screaming kids. Located in a very small village (200 inhabitants) you find this carefully renovated country house(s), Perfectly located for daily trips around the Vino del Sagrantino area. We willl be back!

I only drove out to this hotel for a meal because the hotel service was poor and we saw a sign for it on the main road, but what an evening. The drive to the hotel is by far the worst part of the experience, it is fairly narrow and twisting, was rather further than I thought it would be,...

This place is a little gem, whether for pizza, or for fantastic locally produced typically Umbrian cuisine. We ate outside in the little piazza, and it felt like a film set. We made a mistake thinking we could eat an antipasto and another course.I don't know how the Italians do it, but we were flagging after the starter, which was...

We spent four lovely days here and would definitely recommend it. Carlo, the owner, was friendly, warm and attentive. The food was excellent- made with care and with the freshest ingredients. And the room was comfortable and cozy. What else could you ask for?

We were in a hotel nearby (la guirlanda), and found this place much nicer and better utilised, for about the same price! We loved the little town, the wine bar, and the appartment, the view, and even had the luck of an evening with live music on the square, while having a nice meal. The place is also a good...

We stayed for three days in a one-bedroom apartment which was very well equipped for self catering with fridge, cooker, washing machine and air conditioning. The shared pool is excellent and of a very good standard. We ate in the onsite restaurant which has great views across the hills and a traditional and modern menu. Our stay was made by...

Ask for the apartments with the patios. La Locanda is at the top of the village and the apartments with the patios have amazing views out across the Umbrian hills. The patios are not fully private as they are shared between two of the apartments but it is lovely to step out there in the morning with your coffee or...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tasting the real flavor of an ancient village's atmosphere, literally living through its streets. Enjoying best local food and wines watching a superb view from the terrace. Relaxing aboard a pool nestled between green hills and olive trees. Discover La Locanda del Prete in Saragano, Umbria...The "Locanda" is a country house, a result of an intensive renovation of a medieval village.Ten apartments, finely furnished according to the local tradition, a charming restaurant with a panoramic terrace and a veranda, the cigar club with its own restaurant hall where smoking is permitted, the wine bar with a great selection of Umbrian and Italian wines complete our original model of hospitality. The ancient village of Saragano, (the name, from the root "Sarag", would recall to a cherry tree), was an installation placed on the border of the Longobard dukedom of Spoleto; the ethimology testifies the agricultural vocation of the territory, absorbed in the green of the vineyards and of the olive trees. ... more   less
