I stayed at Primrose Lodge as I was working near York. What a great choice I made. The room was very tastefully decorated, nice and fresh, clean, bright and airy. French doors onto a patio/courtyard with a little bistro table and chairs to use, should the weather allow. There was wine glasses, 2 bottles of water, plenty of tea/coffee/hot chocolate... More

We stayed in Room 1 with our 5-year-old for two nights. Bright, clean and spacious, the perfect place from which to explore York. The room had it's own entrance, so it felt more like a holiday apartment. All guests are welcome to use a kitchen with a washing machine. Breakfast was great, they even had black pudding. There's ample parking... More

Stopped here overnight as we were down visiting the maze for the day and decided to book an overnight stay. We cudnt have chosen a better place absolutely out of this world from the welcome of homemade cake and tea etc on arrival, the friendliness of Deborah especially with the kids given them food to feed the horse and letting... This B and B could not be faulted, we were greeted by Debbie with tea and homemade cake, the room was perfect and lots of little thoughtful touches. BReakfast was made to order. Lovely and fresh and lots of choices. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend again. Near to York but very country. Good pub nearly opposite. Go for it!

We came for a birthday long weekend tucked in on the right hand side of hull road about 1/4 mile after filling station , we arrived a little early but was no trouble shown to our room ( number 1) larger than we expected and we were impressed ( that's hard for a Yorkshire man ie me) tastefully decorated small... Good clean comfortable accommodation with excellent breakfast close to the city of York and close to the Park and Ride bus station making it easier to get to York. Returning at night kept missing the sign for Primrose Lodge - could do with a very large neon Primrose at the edge of the property to guide you onto the driveway... More

I stayed at Primrose Lodge with a group of university friends while the York races were on. Excellent full English breakfast (with homemade bread), beautiful homemade cakes in the afternoon and lovely touches with chocolates on the pillows. The room was clean and spacious and the tea and coffee were replenished frequently. Deborah was an excellent host and made us... More

We stayed here as a family in their king size room which was lovely! The family were so welcoming and even left homemade cake in our room for us. They were so welcoming and helpful and we were extremely comfortable. There was some road noise but it didn't stop us sleeping. The breakfast was great too. We highly recommend and... More

This lodge lays a bit outside York, and was a bit hard to find (use the postal code on your navigation system to get there), but once there it was a warm welcome with tea, biscuits and sweets. We could choose the room, but they looked all luxury comfortable and very clean. We had a nice couple of days stay,... More
