This hotel is near Mae Salong. It is quite ok; however, staff might not be at the level. They do not suggest any interesting places or restaurants nearby hotel. We had nothing to do while staying there and it is pretty far from any other places. However, hotel location is nice with nature view. Room is very huge and very comfortable. Facility is good with warm pool. Area of hotel is huge and lots of fresh air. Good to be there.
I love the view here both from the room and their restaurant. The room is spacious and clean. The food is tasty and not too pricey. And their buffet breakfast is good as well. Winter is the best season to visit here.
Many thanks to Katilya Resort for a great family break. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped, the food was excellent and the pool is large and comfortable. Our kids just loved spending time in the nature park that forms part of the resort - and the nature trails are spectacular for walks or just relaxing. Many thanks to Lisa (GM) and her very helpful staff for making it a great few days away.
We spent a week at the resort and were very happy with the service and responsiveness of the staff. Thanks to Khun Liza, the park was a wonderful experience for the kids and adults alike and the wife loved the spa treatment as well. Breakfast was limited but that was to be expected given the meager occupancy rate. The approach definitely needs some road works but other than that, well done team.
If you are really looking to get away from it all, and I mean all, then yeah this is the place for you. Because there is NOTHING around. No shops, not restaurants, nothing! Just you and the bugs! Positives: Again if you want peace and quiet, then this is the place. But it is very far from the city, at least 30 minutes, and will cost you at least 500 Baht if not more, and getting a taxi to the city will be an issue. Once you are here, unless you have a guide and driver, you are kind of stuck. I had a driver, so I was fine, I did everything I wanted to, before I went back to the hotel. It is peaceful and quiet. The rooms are quite far from the lobby, you will need a buggy most of the time unless you like a walk, up hills. The food is good, breakfast was a little lacking, but dinner menu I feel is good. This is the one very good thing I liked, the food at the hotel was good. Not so cheap, but good. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. View from the room was nice, but some bugs. The massage service was also fantastic, professional and great!! Ok, now for some things I did not like… The wi-fi was terrible. They tried several times, but it was bad. The wifi was right outside my door, they moved it, but the signal was still bad. I tried to work at night, but could not, because I had no signal. Bugs.. yes, it is in the mountain so I expect some. But.. one night, I came back and there was a huge wasp flying around my room, and I mean huge! I called front desk they came, and captured it in about 15-20 minutes, they told me luckily didn’t get stung, as that one was deadly. It freaked me out. The housekeeping staff needs to close the doors when they clean the room. And I also heard rats, mice, or something lese running around in the AC vents, this was freaky also. The hotel needs to do something about this. It is hard, I know, but with deadly things running around hotels, it creeps people out. The rooms are dated, the colors are indeed mountain colors, but they are dated. The bathrooms are quite ugly, but clean. All in all, not bad, but if I came back, I may choose a different hotel for convenience and for variety. But if you are looking for something away from it all, you actually can’t really go wrong here.…
