I have stayed here several times on business travel in the past two years, and even though some would say the room decors are dated, I would say they have charm. I always enjoy staying here due to the value, view, access to Cleeve Hill, the attentive, friendly staff and eating at the attached great pub with an excellent selection...

A place I had always wanted to check out after seeing a TV feature filmed from there some years ago. This hotel is a very good base for attending Cheltenham races, only a 10 minute drive - once you get out of the racecourse car park. My room (3) was a good size, especially for a hotel on the smaller...

Nice hotel with great views and approx 10 minutes from the racecourse. A nice touch would have been shower cap in bathroom and bottled water in the room. Room was comfortable, breakfast very good and all the staff friendly.

We booked a 'dog friendly' room for three nights with our two small dogs here, as the Olde English Inn a few miles away, that we has stayed in previously, was full. We thought it reasonable to assume that two hotels within the same group, whist different in character, would be of a similar standard. How wrong could we be!...

We regret that you did not find the room allocated to you suitable to stay in; we have only two rooms advertised as Dog friendly, and have to adhere to this due to allergies and the possibility of disruption to other guests. We agree that owning and travelling with a dog does not equate to being treated differently to other...

Lovely vuiews, perfect situation. Part of the Greene King Group. The hotel was clean and well presented, staff absolutely all charming. Good evening meal (Tom Kerridge's caramelised beef pie!). Breakfast eggs were sent back and replaced as were overcooked. No problem though and we would stay again.

Two night stay in a family group of 8 adults. Good base to explore the Cotswolds. Fantastic views from Cleeve Hill over Cheltenham. We had 4 rooms, all clean and comfortable. All staff are very friendly and approachable; we were very well looked after. Breakfasts are first class. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We have been staying at the Rising Sun (as nearby Prescott Speed Hillclimb competitors) since the late 1980s! The pub hotel has seen its ups and downs but of late during our last few visits it is definitely an "up" period now. From the friendly welcome from the receptionist to the comfortable rooms (15,16,17,18,20 and 21 (21 is best)) which...

Stayed here for a night to break up our journey to Devon, the hotel has fantastic views is very clean and first impressions were good although it is true there isn't always staff on the small reception desk. The room was clean and comfortable and good value, we paid £80 for a family room which included breakfast. We stayed on...
