My partner and I have been here for a meal a few times now and the food, service and friendliness of the staff was excellent each time. My 8 year old, who is a fairly fussy eater, likes the children’s menu too, which is always...More
We visited this place after having completed a 3 mile walk so we were both hungry. The lunch menu had a good variety. We both opted for different roasts and neither of us were disappointed. The topside was well cooked and flavoursome, and the portion...More
Stayed here for 1 night in December. The boiler had broken down, no heating except a small fan heater provided. The car park was like a sheet of ice and although the manager said it had been gritted twice very little grit could be seen...More

Hi! I'm sorry for the delay in this reply but we've been away on holiday until a few days ago. The Rising Sun does have quite a few stairs, including stairs down to the restaurant, where breakfast is served, from the rooms. The room I stayed in at end September 2015 was just down a few stairs and along a corridor from the reception desk, which was the ground floor. My room had twin beds and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast, which was cooked to order, was included in the price I paid. I'm afraid I didn't see or use a lift but you could contact the hotel to check.,
