The Black Orchid Resort is such a relaxing place to stay. Have a cocktail at poolside, hop in a canoe for a short cruise of the Belize River, or just chill with your friends. The staff are so friendly and helpful. On top of all that, it is just a beautiful place.
This resort is one of the best place near the airport in Belize City. It is located facing the river about 15 minute drive from Belize international airport. The resort is well maintained. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the staff is profesional, kind and helpful, the food at the restaurant on site is great and plenty of choices for all taste ! The bar has a good selection of local beers, wine and cocktails. Transfers are reliable, on time and safe drivers. I would recommend Black Orchid resort to everybody for 1 night or a week, you will have a amazing time !
We enjoyed this hotel, a 20 min ride from the airport. Beautiful plants and flowers all around the resort. We stayed in the older section, but it was nice and clean. We asked for a coffee pot and it was delivered by the staff. The water pressure was good-not sure why there were negative reviews about it... The pool was clean and a nice place to hang out right near the river. There was a cool dog named Duke there-made me feel good because I was missing our dogs from home... The only small complaint I have was the music was kinda loud one night. We go to bed early and it was too loud. The staff were all great. The food was good, tho a wee bit slow coming out of the kitchen. All in all, we really enjoyed staying here. Thank you to the staff and management at the Black Orchid Resort!
We had a great stay at Black Orchid Resort for Memorial Day Weekend. We only stayed 1 night, but the rooms are huge, the beds are comfortable. Had a great time hanging out by the pool and all of the staff was extremely nice and friendly.
We had a lovey stay at Black Orchid. The rooms were large and clean, and the restaurant had great food and drinks. The customer service was excellent, all the staff was exceptionally friendly! The airport shuttle made was very easy to arrange and super helpful!
My girlfriend and I were originally scheduled to stay in Belize City one night in our way to San Ignacio from San Pedro. We went and had lunch while our room was getting ready and got some great Intelligence from our server who suggested we try The Black Orchid in stead of staying in the city. We were visiting Altun Ha the next day and this place was closer so we said what the heck... let's try it. We weren't really feeling the city vibe and I'm so thankful we did make the move. It's a very quiet and warm property with really good food and the staff is amazing. Braxton and Jaylen took care of us and another party of 14 and they were fantastic. If you want tranquil place with amazing people and plenty of Belikin... this is your place. I never write reviews and I'll be back.
Very nice place to stay, especially good to get away from Belize City and experience something a bit different. About 15 minutes from the airport along the Belize River and they will pick you up after collecting your luggage. The grounds are very pleasing and the staff wonderful. Overall the place is a bit tired and could use a bit of TLC and some updates (hot tub on the roof not usable, some new paint here and there), but the restaurant food is good and reasonably priced. The Conch fritters are the best we had during our two week stay in Belize. Typical of a place like this you’ll wait a bit for your food, but it helps slow you down and is a good reminder you are in another country. The rooms are spacious and clean and the towels and bedding plush. I would recommend this place as a good spot to go for a day or two after flying in and/or flying out of the main airport.…
Our room was clean & simple, but not worth the $200 we paid especially compared to other places we stayed at a similar price. Dogs were barking all evening, early morning & in the middle of the night. Pool was cloudy. Our biggest problem was with the restaurant, took us 25 minutes to get coffee in the morning, 45 min for our breakfasts to arrive (we were the only customers) and they were not even close to correct for what we ordered. There was a bug in the fruit. Half our ordered items just never showed up. Tables had not been cleared or wiped until we asked to sit at them. I think our stay was supposed to come with a free continental breakfast but there was no sign of it in the morning. We ate dinner in the restaurant as well and service was incredibly slow and inaccurate, not to mention they were blending drinks right next to our table and a tour group guide was speaking loudly to his group with his voice booming thru the entire restaurant. Came home with some mild food poisoning. Everyone was friendly, but service was not up to the reviews this place gets.…
We have chosen this resort three times because of its proximity to the Intl. Airport. Our first visit, two years ago, we stayed for 4 nites and visited Lamanai and Tikal through the front desk. This year we stayed for one ight upon arrival from San Pedro, rented a car and toured the country. Our last night was back at the Black Orchid. Our experiences were similar. The staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful. The food at the restaurants is typical of other resorts. the restaurant service was slow which is typical. Rooms were great with nice amenities. Grounds are very pleasant.
Great staff that is eager to set up transfers, tours or covid tests. Very close to the airport but use GPS if driving. We've missed it twice and then back to the airport once. The rooms were cool, comfortable and clean even though they have seen better days and the pictures are too flattering, but it is a perfect place for your final or first night if you are arriving late in the day.
