We booked three rooms for six people and wanted to have a dinner booking in the restaurant L‘Aria. The dinner was the main purpose of the hotel booking. I have received a friendly confirmation by the food and beverage team with a list of four set menus attached with the request to pick one and the same for all six although part of the six are vegetarians and some just eat fish or meat. I called the concierge who recommended another restaurant 20 minutes drive away where there would be a more flexible à la carte offering and she would send me the details. I have not received anything. Because of this very poor experience we have cancelled the stay and booked the hotel Vista Lago di Como including dinner. To be continued.

What a location....What tremendous service with a wonderful eye for detail Watch out Villa d'Este - this hotel is real competition! There are properties that say that they are luxury hotels and others that truly are - The M.O. Como is very much in the latter category. We could not have had a better stay - we were looked after “as if we were Royalty.” Front Desk and welcome: It doesn’t get better than this. Warm, professional and starts the stay off on the right note Housekeeping: The room was spotless and the upkeep top-notch Spa: as one would expect from a MO. Restaurant: if you can to sit out and look across the lake, you might think that the food did not have to be up to scratch - but it very much was. The idea of the pizza oven on a street food cart is great fun I would very happily go again - and, indeed, have just booked to go there for a few more days

Everything was perfect. The hotel is beyond beautiful, the staff is amazing, always ready to help and make the stay unique. We were upgraded to a Lake View room which was spacious, clean and had everything one needs. The Staycation by MO package is great, 100% worth it. Will come back as soon as we can!

We are”fans of Mandarin Oriental” en route to stay at their hotel in Milan. We decided to stop for dinner at their Lake Como property. On arrival we were first grilled by the gatekeeper who rang to confirm our reservation, then admitted us after 10 minutes. After trekking down the long path to the hotel we were further grilled on entering the hotel and then shown down to the restaurant level. There are 2 restaurants and we asked to see the menus. A totally offensive hostile female lackey kept us waiting and after staring at us for 5 minutes showed us the menus. We chose the bistro, which was completely empty she showed us to the worst table and told us that we had to be finished in 80 minutes. Fortunately we were served starters and main courses by a pleasant waitress- and we escaped within an hour, having been served ok but not special food. This is really lovely property in a beautiful position and with great facilities, which was Ill served by the obnoxious and offensive “greeter”, who seemed demonstrably Ill qualified for any job in the hospitality industry. The property is to die for - the reception was deathly!

We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the border. While overall stay was really great, we feel the service a bit uneven for such caliber hotel. The service at the Bistro was defensive and the meal we had for dinner there was poorly paced (long wait between meals). Yes, Bistro was busy due to influx of guests but if this cannot be managed, then number of guests should be limited. Also, after check-out, we were 'dumped' at the car park (no valet due to COVID) with no guidance on how to exit the property. Signage wasn't very clear and we made a wrong turn and turning back was a pain. Otherwise, it was an excellent experience: great check in, great service for drinks, EXCELLENT food (both at the bistro and the pop-up restaurant, the Langosteria), beautifully furnished room with good quality bed, etc. One thing to note: water in the room was supposed to be free and at check in, we were told just to call for more. We called one night and was about to be charged because, apparently, requests of water at night is considered 'room dining' (despite no food was ordered to accompay the water). To the hotel's credit, this misunderstanding was cleared but it's just a bit of a strange policy.
