Although it had a restaurant we choose to have bar snacks in the wonderful oak beamed bar. Large car park and friendly staff. Recommend the home made pork pies with a plate of chips. Large selection of drinks and unusual beers.

Its many years since I visied the Leicester Arms at Penshurst. Very little has changed in terms of the decor and furniture but what has changed its the staff and the quality/quantity of food. Four of us had lunch and we were all delighted with our meal and in particular the service. Living only a few miles from the Leicester...

After a miserable hotel stay, we called in on this pub for an afternoon escape. The tea rooms were closed in Penshurst, so we found ourselves in the Leicester Arms - what a delightful pub. The staff were attentive and helpful, serving drinks to the table, taking a late lunch food order and turning it round extra quick. Delicious food,...

The setting was great and the restaurant was packed. However mains were disappointing for the price. Service was poor - wine spilt when being poured and had to request an ice bucket. However puddings were superb - stick toffee especially. We did nit have starters - the options were limited.

Had lunch today. £16 for a very mediocre Sunday roast lunch per head. Loads of staff who were more happy to talk to each other, rather than serve the customers. Food wasn't very hot. Terrible presentation. Then had the audacity to charge a service fee :-( I won't be rushing back!!!!!!!

My family visited for Christmas drinks last night and it was awful. Considering we went at 6 and it was pretty empty the place was a mess. The bar was sticky and covered in glasses. We were then told there was a table with sofas that we could sit at but that it needed cleaning. But no one came to...

Booked here for 1 night whilst attending a function at nearby Penshurst Place. Looks great from outside, great parking facilities which is nice to have. Was welcomed straight away by the gentleman behind the bar. He showed us to our room personally. The room was very dated but some might call that character. It certainly wasn't as nice as the...

I stayed just one night after flying in from the US. Exhausted and just wanted a quiet room with a comfy bed and a nice bathroom. 3 for 3... especially the bed! My only regret was not sampling the selection of beers.

an expensive mistake! Poor food and indifferent service. Minced venison with pasta, very third rate for the price charged. Stale bread. Ice creams arrived semi melted. Plum crumble was like solid rock. Obviously reheated in microwave and inedible. Kitchen obviously understaffed as we waited ages for food and waitress never came near us to apologise or explain why.

Went here for a family birthday (x6 people) great location, lovely building and the food was nice, not fantastic - but nice. The things that stood out for us were the staff and the service, both poor. I know smiling is not essential but they are also free - unfortunately we did not see one from 'any' of the 4...
