Stapleford Park hotel garners appreciation for its picturesque location, often described as a highlight of visitors' stays. While the rooms receive a mixed response—with some guests enjoying their spaciousness and others pointing out a need for refurbishment—cleanliness is a strong suit, with many guests commending the pristine conditions. The hotel's amenities and service have their share of admirers, though there are mentions of spa service inconsistencies and occasional lapses in service. Opinions on value are divided, as some guests feel certain aspects do not justify the expense.

The most amazing afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. Just wonderful. A very special and stunning 5 star with a faultless afternoon tea. Fresh sandwiches, cakes and scones. A wide variety of different teas. Gorgeous champagne. Just delightful. We will be visiting again!

We have stayed here many times over the years, but things have changed - for the better! On our arrival we noticed the main entrance hall had a beautiful log fire burning for a change, and as we went through to the bar and drawing room, all the fires were alight there too! What a joy and it gave us such a welcome feeling. Flowers everywhere and beautiful linen table cloths wherever food was being served no matter we sat. Good service with a smile, and plenty of helpful staff too. The food at lunchtime, and especially dinner was some of the best we've tasted, anywhere. And we do travel to some of the top UK hotels and we do eat exceedingly well when we're there, so we say that with authority. Absolutely faultless quality, fresh, imaginative and every course cooked to perfection. Even the breakfast porridge was as good as I've eaten anywhere. I mean, anywhere! There have been changes at Stapleford, and definitely for the better. We will be returning very soon. But I could do with a firm pillow next time please! Well done.

I read previous reviews so thought it would be a good base for us. My husband booked a deal through Off Peak Luxury but our room certainly wasn’t. Were we put in this room as a punishment?! I notice it does not feature in any photos on this or the hotels site - probably because it is so dark inside. Furniture somewhat battered, dark wallpaper and there were little moths flying around as well as silverfish in the bathroom. The bathroom was internal with a noisy fan and also rather tired. Rusty sink plug, cracked sink and a pretty useless shower. My husband found the room quite depressing. The restaurant was ok and people mainly dressed up which was nice. Food was very good but a side dish of jersey royals at £5.50 was dry and unexciting. Breakfast seemed to be just buffet which was ok for my husband but I had looked on line and there was a breakfast menu - not featuring at all on the tables. I asked both days to order avocado and eggs and pancake and bacon the following day. Was it just because it was Easter there was a buffet? Not worthy of a 4 star hotel. We had a credit of £40 for wine which was just as well as it is very expensive. The bottle we had was £48, retails in the supermarket at under £16. We have paid these sort of prices in the past at other hotels which have been far better than Stapleford. It was disappointing.

Excellent Hotel, Beautiful room, great bar and wonderful breakfast. The staff were exactly what I expect and I cannot fault it in anyway. The sense of history in this historic building added to the ambience. Paula the taxi driver was a credit to the profession.

For a luxury hotel I was really quite disappointed with the quality if my room. The bathroom was full of dead insects and I suspect a mouse dropping. The carpets were threadbare in places and there were what looked like small moths flying around the wardrobe. The TV screen was a bit blurry and dark. The hairdryer didn't really heat up etc etc. for what they charge, I expect better. I advised reception on check out and received an apology but no offer of recompense.

We stayed one night in the Haddon Room. On arrival, directions to the entrance were non/existent, so we had to walk about in the rain to find our way in. The room looked lovely, but was absolutely freezing. A heater was provided, which was ineffective and very noisy. The bathroom was even colder - not for the faint hearted. The restaurant was lovely and the staff absolutely brilliant. The food was beautifully presented and the wine very good. Breakfast was also of a good standard. We also used the pool area which, whilst dated, was quite nice. The highlight of the trip was the most divine massage with Kay! Possibly the best one I’ve ever had. Thank you Kay.

Stayed this weekend and had the most wonderful time. The hotel is absolutely fantastic and the food is top class. The staff are so helpful and can't do enough for you. The rooms are very spacious and give you everything you need. We were lucky enough to book in for Spa treatments and it was heaven. One of the best treatments I have had! Thank you very much Stapleford, we will definitely be returning.

The afternoon tea was OK but I did not feel it was worth the money charged at £41 per head. A bottle of Prosecco was £38. There were four of us and there was a service charge of £25.25. I did feel this was a little excessive. Had I given a tip it would not have equated to this amount. If you include the service charge the actual cost of the afternoon tea per head is £47.32. Surroundings are beautiful but I won't be going back. I have had better elsewhere.
