We go to many hotels in lots of countries. Generally we never put a review as we are not compelled to do so. However, this is the one exception: The Stapleford Park Country House made us feel so welcome and made our stay very special. From the time we arrived, we were met in the car park by a porter with an umbrella in hand as the clouds had burst. He took our bags with one hand and sheltered us from the rain with the other. This was the level of service repeated on every occasion that we were met by any staff member. The food was excellent. The room was unique, big, warm and so comfortable. We will be back very soon. Thank you:
Excellent Hotel with brilliant service. I visited this hotel with a group of colleagues for a team meeting / conference. Meals were all excellent, breakfast lunch and a specified BBQ in the evening superb. Rooms are a real treat ! All staff are courteous and are of the highest standard Real shame the golf course is no longer open I will definitely return to this one
An English country house of distinction. We were greeted by a porter who came out to our car as we parked up in the gated car park in front of the elegant front entrance. It reminded us of something out of Downtown Abbey! He offered to take our suitcases and showed us in to the reception area. This area was very grand and definitely out of an era where service was expected and given as a norm. After check in he took our cases to our room and gave us a mini-guided tour. It was a nice touch. The service throughout the stay was outstanding and exemplary - particularly from the dining staff and their boss, the food and beverage director Raj. They took care of your cohort throughout the two day conference. The only area they could improve on is their bed making. In a place like Stapleford you expect starched sheets with hospital-corners. Unfortunately my bed was not made up to the standards of the rest of the place. It was poorly made up. Overall my colleagues and I were really happy with the service and experience we had at the Stapleford Park country house. Thank you.…
We visited this property for short midweek stay. We arrived late and couldn’t utilise the arrival afternoon tea - however the hotel allowed us to use it the next day. Raj and Rebecca took wonderful care of us at dinner, accommodating the needs of our young family (a 1 year old and 3 year old), a table was arranged for us, that could accommodate a pushchair and sleeping toddler. The attentive and personal service made this a very special stay. We look forward to visiting again.
The stately home experience was the best part of our stay but at the price we paid it really didn't stack up with other stays. Ovepriced for underwhelming service. With attention to detail this hotel could be such a fantastic destination. Breakfast was seriously disappointing.
Visited here as a belated birthday treat. Can't compliment staff enough. They are friendly, professional and helpful and go that extra mile to make the experience special. Grounds are beautiful. Overall had a lovely relaxing time and can't wait to come back again.
This is hotel has a traditional stately home feel and is located in superb grounds. Bathroom could do with a refurb. Sadly, the night we stayed we were woken repeatedly by the car alarm on a Range Rover in the car park. It first went off about 9pm when we were in the bar. Presumably the vehicle of another guest - but why it wasn’t sorted out at that time I don’t know - as we had terrible night sleep which ruined the stay…I contacted reception several times in the early hours and eventually it stopped about 3.30am. Had a pre booked treatment at the Stable Spa which was really good if rather expensive in comparison to other Spa’s.
The hotel itself is very impressive and grand. There was a friendly greeting, although asking for prepayment of the room plus £100 was a bit disconcerting. Our room was large with a lovely view of the lake, had a large bathroom and comfortable bed. I had to request peppermint tea, which took an age to come. Nibbles were a selection of 2 bought snack items in a dish designed to hold 3 . The third compartment being empty The meal was very good as was the service in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was a buffet, but I was told I could request anything I would like that wasn’t on display. Thank you On checkout I pointed out there was no sloe gin in the room and no alternative was offered. We were told it should have been removed from the website because they couldn’t get any miniature decanters. This is no excuse. You could offer a glass to be brought to the room or to have in the bar. I read a review from March with exactly the same comment and response. AND I would suggest you check Amazon as they have miniature decanters available for delivery by the weekend. ( you asked us to let you know if we could get hold of any!) In all I was very disappointed by the lack of attention to detail and wish we had just come for dinner only.…
Pleasant birthday treat, stunning building well appointed bedroom, delicious dinner the three courses at Michelin star standard but lacking the refinement of quality nibbles with pre dinner drinks and no canapés, amuse bouche, pre desert etc. You get what you pay for and only what is advertised. Wrong , the website clearly states and yes I checked after my discussion on checkout (and have saved a timed screenshot if you want further evidence),that there is complimentary sloe gin in the rooms. According to our discussion on checkout sloe gin is on back order and unobtainable (although is on sale in the hotel). As discussed I can obtain any amount of miniatures on 24 hour delivery and can supply personalised labels and gift boxes if required, obviously these will take a while to print. So in short if you want a good review please don’t bul•••• your way to an excuse.…
This is my 3rd visit for afternoon tea and its never a disappointment. From the moment you walk in the service is spot on. The staff make you feel extra special. We went as a group of friends. Afternoon tea was a classy treat there. The grounds a beautiful worth having a walk round!
