The hotel is an old building complete with sloping bedroom and bathroom floors, but this just added to the quirkiness. We were met by Gillian, the owner, who immediately offered us hot drinks - which arrived with a slice of cake each. What a lovely start. Bedroom was large and airy and the bed comfortable. The only minor problem was... More

We stayed at one of the cottages for two nights and could not have been happier with our accommodation. The cottage was spacious yet cosy, with good views, a roll top bath, and a nice homely feel. Highly recommend, we would have happily stayed longer. We also had an enjoyable breakfast in the hotel which was great value. It's a... More

This place is wonderful. Like staying with friends and having the choice to be catered, go self catering or enjoy a flexible mix. I have stayed here several times, latterly in October 2015. The owner's friendly and accommodating Yorkshire warmth from initial contact to parting farewell is outstanding. The accommodation in the main building has a wonderfully strong sense of... More

wonderful host, an excellent full cooked English breakfast. we turned up unexpected as we had booked the wrong dates at another B&B and were a day early! We were put up at a moments notice as though it was of no inconvenience at all to our hosts. The causeway Foot pub is almost next door and provides wonderful meals to... More

We stayed at Windmill Court for just one night while visiting family nearby, but could have happily stayed for longer. For the price of a family hotel room we booked into Rooster Cottage, a spotlessly clean and comfortable two bedroom house. The accommodation was superb, from the well equipped kitchen to the roll top bath and separate shower cubicle. The... More

I have been for lunch with a group of friends on several occasions during the last year and I cannot fault it. The food is excellent, the service is well organized and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. We went last year for our Christmas lunch outing and it was absolutely faultless. We are unanimous in wanting to go... More

We spent two nights here while attending a family event just down the road.. We chose initially because it was close to where we needed to be. What a little gem it turned out to be. Nice warm room, comfy bed, tea &coffee, very nice breakfast and the staff were lovely. It has holiday cottages out the back which look... More

I first reviewed this hotel some years ago on Tripadvisor and since then, the cottages keep being upgraded and a new one has been added. The bedroom windows now have blinds and the walls have been repainted, some of the furniture has been spruced up/replaced, new TVs etc. This is a well cared-for establishment. If you want a walk, then... More
