Convenient, clean, and extremely welcoming staff. Amazing breakfast and exceptionally beautiful location although not in the town center. Great for visiting Doolin, Cliffs of Moher and the surrounding area! Highly recommended and will not disappoint!

Beautiful setting, we loved it here! The owner was so friendly, quaint castle with beautiful view of Atlantic and just few miles from Cliffs of Moher. Definitely highly recommend staying. Best dinner we’ve had in Ireland!

Nice place with good food and a lovely view out to the Aran Islands. With some other places we stayed in Ireland, it was good to be in or within a short walk of the town, but here we were glad to be a couple of miles away. Quite peaceful in the evening with the stars twinkling above and the sparse lights from the Aran Islands adding an almost spooky atmosphere. The very friendly and attentive family who run this place could sometimes seem frantically busy, but hey, they have an inn and restaurant to run. The tour of the castle next door is a highlight. We also very much enjoyed McGann's Pub in nearby Doolin. They served our favorite fish and chips of the trip. Recommended.
Thank iksnamhcok

This inn is a former estate and is situated next to the castle of the same name. A stay here includes a tour of the castle remains which provides good history of the area and the important clans people during the 14th century and beyond. The Inn is family owned and is a lovely place but has a few squeaks and tweaks to attend to when it closes for the season. (Squeaky headboard, for example) The restaurant in the Inn is outstanding. We had lamb and the whole meal was perfection. A great meal, a good bottle of wine and a lovely inn for retiring. What a perfect evening!

We chose this castle home hotel due to its convenient location to the Cliffs of Moher. Located about 30 minutes north, we knew we would arrive near the end of the day and they offered bed and breakfast with a dinner option at a castle ruin/hotel.

Upon arrival, we were greeted and our room was pointed out to us. It was the “honeymoon suite”, located at the far end of the most recent addition to the hotel. My husband carried our two suitcases up and down and up and down several sets of steps, which could be a challenge to some.

When we entered our room, we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean and in the distance, the Cliffs of Moher. The minute we closed our door, we heard what sounded like a bee hive in our room. We soon discovered it was the buzz of flies, several of them, 11 to be exact! My husband was able to kill them all using the bath mat as a swatter, however we did not say anything to management as what could they do? We deduced that because of the solarium type room, housekeeping probably opened the window to cool it down while cleaning and all the flies came in. There were no more flies later!

The room was clean, the bed was fine and there was instant coffee and tea with an electric kettle available in the closet. Like most beds in Ireland hotels, the duvet was VERY warm. Wi-Fi was unsecured and a bit slow in our farther room. We did notice quite a few of the guests having a difficult time with the old-fashioned keys and the noise that came from the jiggling was often needed to lock and unlock the door.

The owner of the castle home offered a dusk tour of the castle ruins which was the highlight of our stay! To be able to walk around, climb up in and learn the history was so interesting!

As mentioned, we chose to eat dinner here. With no other close dining options, it was the easiest. Unfortunately, we did not make good choices. My fish tasted rather bland and rubbery (maybe over-cooked) and my husbands blackened salmon with horseradish and wasabi did not have much flavor. The service, however, was polite and prompt.

Breakfast included a small cold buffet and a hot, made to order entree. It was more than enough food to start the day.

One small note: if reserving on line, there was some confusion in the reservation process. I had emailed the hotel directly. After a couple of days I used there online reservation site to be sure we got a room. There is a 10% deposit required through a different web site which made me nervous (too many issues of fraud in our past) but was not a problem at all. When I finally received an email reply, I was better able to understand the various rooms available and opted to upgrade our room and all was handled perfectly.

Thank Christine H

Hi there! There are taxis in town but not many, the pubs in town are great but the restaurant in the hotel is one of the best in the area. Pub in the hotel is VERY quiet and you'll find you're often the only one there, but... More
