I had the pleasure of staying at the Ballinalacken Castle Country House for 3 nights from 9/9-9/11/16 and it was truly a delightful stay. As we were driving from town up to the Country House, we caught a glimpse of the Castle that is on the premise and it takes your breath away. We were so fortunate that the weather... More

We stayed for several nights at Ballinalacken while touring County Clare. Family owned and operated. They upgraded us upon arrival which was very nice. Stunning views of the Atlantic and you could even see the Cliffs of Moher in the distance. Owner gave a personal tour of the castle remains one evening. Very helpful with suggestions for excursions. Ate dinner... More

Stayed here for our trip to Doolin and the Burren. Not in town but a 10 minute cab ride.....and why drive when you can enjoy the pubs! Wonderful location , next to the Obrian Castle do take the tour . Our room overlooked Galway Bay ,had a panoramic view and four poster bed. Dinner was 5 star and the Irish... More

Stayed here one night for easy access to the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. It's run by a couple, who work their tails off to keep the guest happy. It was built in 1860, and is a fabulous little establishment, with excellent views, nice rooms, and fantastic views.

I have just returned from a great week of golfing in Ireland. We stayed at a few hotels but Ballinlacken Castle was the standout. This was not my first time staying here and I really should 'cut and paste' my last review. The food is outstanding, the rooms are very atmospheric and super comfortable. The standout for me - the... Ballinalacken is our first stop whenever we visit Ireland. We fly into Shannon, drive to the castle, take a quick nap and are ready to great the evening. The food is incredibly delicious and the setting gorgeous. The owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Never a bad stay. And breakfast! wow! Can't say enough about breakfast. Makes you want to... More

What an awesome surprise for our last 2 nights in Ireland. My wife has a thing for castles, so, just being on the grounds and touring the castle both nights, was a dream come true for her. And, it was completely unexpected. It capped off an absolutely tremendous vacation for us. And, the hot and sunny weather at the Cliffs... More

Beautifully furnished, well kept and nothing at all to complain about! Were unable to get a cab to the pubs downtown one night (no drinking and driving however it's a short drive) so we ate in the dining room, the food and service were incredible. Nothing but good things to say!

We changed our travel route a few days before leaving for Ireland so we needed a place to stay in Doolin. I quickly searched TripAdvisor and found this place. What a pleasant surprise. This hotel was wonderful. The managers, Celina and her husband, were unbelievably friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 14 and the view was gorgeous. While we... More

My husband and I stayed here on August 29th, 2016 and found the charm, history and elegance just to our liking. A bit hard to find (stupid GPS) but worth the extra effort. Mostly quiet (was I just dreaming the three bygone ladys in my room?) atmosphere with the unexpected pleasure of a private castle tour by the proprietor. In... More
