We are a family of vegan (parents) and vegetarians (kids) and what a wonderful find this place is! We booked to stay one night in July, in their family room, en route to southern Spain. We all loved it so much that we changed our plans for returning home and booked to stay for two nights! JULY STAY: we arrived after a long drive from the UK to a very warm welcome by John, who offered us all a drink outside on the terrace. John is a great host and was very happy to tell us a bit about the fascinating history of the house, parts of which are 500 years old. We had pre-booked dinner, a 3-course vegan meal. We had courgette soup, using courgettes from their garden, a vegan moussaka for us and a bean, ricotta & spinach pasta for the boys, followed by a vegan berry cobbler for us and cheesecake and ice cream for the boys. Also included were drinks, (juice and a half litre of wine for each of us) fresh bread and a delicious salad. We were all thrilled with our meal, especially after such an early start and a long day. The next morning, we had time to chill a bit, have a dip in the pool and a wander before heading off to Spain. AUGUST STAY: Another great welcome from John greeted us, he brought drinks and snacks for us all to enjoy on the terrace. Again, we’d booked dinner, and we had all been so excited about this on the journey north. We ate tomato soup, made from their own tomatoes, savoury pancakes, followed by chocolate surprise, as well as bread and another wonderful salad. The breakfasts are also super delicious here, and our 9 yo could hardly contain his excitement at being back. We had fruit, fresh bread, home made jams, cereal, vegan yogurts, juice and the boys had pastries. It really filled you up until lunchtime! We had a relaxed day, the boys went in the pool in the morning, they played with and fed the cats, we played table tennis in the yoga dome and had a lovely explore through the little wood at the back, picking blackberries as we went. Dinner for our last night was curry and we enjoyed home made onion bhajis, vege curry with rice, fruit crumble & cream as well as poppadoms and drinks. The boys had requested pasta so they had vege meatballs and pasta, which they loved. We were all very sad to leave the next morning, and had a long day ahead of us driving home to the UK. But the breakfast set us up for the day and we are pleased to have found this place and intend to stay next year on our drive to/from Spain! I suppose the only ‘negative’ is that I think the family rooms are not as grandly furnished as the first-floor rooms appeared to be, but this didn’t matter to us. It’s a truly wonderful place, full of character, in a fabulous setting with very kind and accommodating hosts. We very much hope to see you both again next year! Great pool, library and gargoyles 😊

We (husband, two tweens & myself) recently spent a week escaping London, in a gite (La Normande) at Le Quatre Puits and I'm so glad we did! What a holiday! From relaxing by the pool, to gazing at the stars, to exploring the local area, it was perfect. Keith and John, our hosts, couldn't have been more wonderful or welcoming, from serving us a welcome drink on our arrival to being on hand with helpful hints for activities, which were always spot on! Even our tweens loved it and are keen to return! The gite was clean, comfortable and well equipped with all the essentials and more. Even more importantly the beds were super comfy! (I always struggle to sleep when we go away but drifted off every night without a problem here.) After a game of ping-pong in the geodesic dome, the large, beautiful grounds, were lovely to wander around and explore in the evening, taking in the sheep and 5 gorgeous cats!! All four of us would highly recommend staying here - we'll be back!

I have visited Les Quatre Puits 4 times in the last few years. I always look forward to my stay and have never been disappointed. I have visited as part of a group for retreat and training weekends. The accommodation is extremely spacious, comfortable and clean. John and Keith are fabulous hosts and the vegetarian food is delicious. The surroundings are peaceful and a pleasure to explore. My idea of bliss! Looking forward to my next visit whenever that may be! Sally

I was part of a small group who visited from the UK to make use of the Logis for a relaxing break combined with ‘fitness’ classes. The Logis has a ‘yoga dome’ in its enormous grounds so we were able to combine classes with the gourmet food provided by the Logis and lovely accommodation in the beautiful French countryside. The owners work lovingly to make the place as relaxing and welcoming as possible. The rooms are large and some have good views. The decoration in the hotel is charming – with witty touches reflecting the theatrical background of the hosts. There are well tended pathways through the grounds which are managed in areas for the wildlife – butterflies abound. The TGV whizzes , unseen, past the back of the grounds a very few times an hour- the sound the train makes is brief and unobtrusive; the place is silent at night apart from the sounds of the owls. Anyone visiting really needs a car and the location is ideal as a base to visit local sights including unspoilt rural towns. A perfect place to relax and enjoy.

It was a delight to have you both here! I have to admit, your dietary needs (completely oil free vegan) intimidated us a bit at first, but we actually enjoyed the challenge and are so pleased that you enjoyed the food. Hope to see you back here soon. Regards keith and john
