El Guanche is a family run hotel on the main road at Frontera in El Hierro, the lady is very sweet and kind. I had a mountain bike with me that was allowed to stay in the garage of the family, safely kept. The room had bathroom and eating facilities were right nearby. I had a view over the bay as well. It was a cheap accomodation, not a super fancy place but I could sleep well and go about my business. I must report that the bar staff didn't seem too happy to have tourists around which is quite odd, and also off if you ask me, so I just slept there and ate somewhere else.
Stayed here two nights whilst walking on the Island. The owner is very friendly but is not always about although the bar downstairs is nearly always open. Our twin room was just sufficient. Very clean with a small shower room. Facing on to the street meant there was some traffic noise early morning. There is no heating if the weather turns cold in winter. The evening meal in the bar was typically Canarian and good value. In a morning the cook didn't arrive till after 8am. So a good basic pension in this town that doesn't have a lot else to offer.
Very simple rooms, with a tiny shower. you may have access to a balcony. this is the place that you would use if ur only thing you'd do there is sleep. The people are nice and the bar down there is good. for those not asking for much, this might be your cheapest option
