Maybe this camping is beautifully situated and charming. Unfortunately it is not a friendly place for everyone, and the owner (or somebody who behaved like a landlord) behaved against us like an ordinary boor. We came to this campsite in the evening (two families with small children), because the next day we wanted to begin a two-week cycling trip along... More

Didn't you noticed that it was more than half past ten? when it is 9h00 in London, it's 10h00 here, in France. You forgot something! You could have been so fine as to phone us a few hours before, we could have organized that differently...hotels can be open 24/24, such small campsite as us, not, sorry. it was during the... More

We stayed at Camping Le Verger for 10 nights at the end of July. It was the perfect base for our holiday, and really affordable too. The campsite is beautiful and the owners are really welcoming and friendly. The pitches are large and private with lovely fruit trees dotted around - we felt really nicely tucked away. The facilities are... More

Really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely site, and great location for cycling along the paths either to La Rochelle or Marans in the opposite direction. The owners were very friendly and gave us great advice about places to visit. Sometimes had to wait a few minutes for a shower to come free, but it was peak season when we were... More

This was our first (pre-booked) stay on our tour of France and we were delighted with it. The site is very well kept and pretty, clean toilets/showers and washing up facilities and excellent location for trips out and about, close to La Rochelle and the Isle de Re (which is well worth a visit). There are lots of pretty villages... More

We stayed here in la Roulotte Bleu, the blue gypsy caravan. Loved it! Very cosy, great amenities in the caravan - very comfortable bed, all the joys of camping, but with an electric kettle, electric cooker as well as outdoor gas rings, microwave and a fridge... An easy bike ride to la Rochelle, and about 20 minutes by car to... More

A great campsite. Clean, small and comfortable. The smallness gives the campsite its charm. The bathrooms are cleaned everyday and there is the ability to do some shopping (basic products) during the morning and afternoon. Bread can be ordered the day before. There are some remarks in the previous comments about the noise from planes, dog kennels, trains and the... More

Whilst agreeing that the neighbouring kennels were annoying but in our view was an irritation that didn't stop our enjoyment of the site and would most certainly go back there if in area, this site overall is absolutely delightful. The owners are helpful and welcoming, the facilities good, simple and clean. We took Sylvain's recommendations and visited Ile d'aix which... More

I think that some reviewers when describing this site must have been full of holiday euphoria. The site could be quiet were it not for the boarding kennels on either side of the property, the nearby rail line, being on the flight path into La Rochelle and traffic noise, particularly in the morning. The toilets were spotless after their 4pm... More

This is the only campsite to stay at in the La Rochelle area... We researched all the other campsites in a 5 mile radius (even visiting a couple upon arrival) and we went with the best trip advisor reviews! Trip advisor again delivered :) 5* for everything. The host ever so welcoming, chilled and happy to let us hammock out... More

This was our first time in the La Rochelle region and this camp site is a real haven in what we found to be a very busy holiday area. The campsite owners let you choose where to pitch your tent in what is basically their back garden! It is an orchard and there are no pitches as such so everyone... More
