A magical place in a magical setting, Areias do Seixo is a natural haven less than one hour from Lisbon. This is a special place where pine trees, dunes and sea murmur their secrets. Experience originality, sublime comfort and an unerringly sense of style that seamlessly blends in with the natural surroundings of the land, the sea and the shore. Each room tells its own intriguing story. Our restaurant transports you to a place where aroma, taste and colour come together, using raw materials sourced from a bountiful Mother Nature. Concealed behind the enigmatic wooden doors that lead into our SPA, a world of unique sensations awaits you. Leave the daily grind and the stresses of life behind you. Let yourself be transported back to an almost forgotten time when "to feel" was activity enough.

We have been coming to this beautiful hotel almost since it first opened. The warmth and the welcome from the lovely team that is Areias is simply the best. The rooms, food cleanliness and the amazing Spa are fantastic. Everyone should experience this hotel at least once in their lives. The danger is you will not want to leave 😂

It's definitely a dreamy place not far from Lisbon. The rooms are amazingly huge and beautiful. Space is luxury and Areias do Seixo is very spacious. We were in the gold room, which means that we had a bathtub and a firepit outside on a private and enclosed terrace. It was fantastic. Even in November and at night, we didn't feel cold there. The food was delicious and it's very nice to see the kitchen working in front of us. The staff is extremely friendly and their spa is a very nice place too. Everything was perfect!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We couldn't believe how beautiful and peaceful everything was. After a week of sightseeing at a crazy pace in Lisbon, it was so nice to relax, with walks to the beach, and just time to enjoy the room. We took advantage of the spa and had probably the best massage either of us has ever had. Breakfast was good. We ate dinner at the greenhouse restaurant, where I believe everything served was grown on their property, and it was delicious. We also enjoyed the daily treats left in the room, and the creative tea infusions. The room design was so thoughtful, with creative emphasis on nature, and everything was comfortable, with the exception of the lack of a door to the toilet. Still, it was separated from the sleeping quarters and the shower area. Other guests have mentioned that the shower is open, and there is no way to use it without splashing the entire floor. I concur, and would prefer some sort of enclosure around the shower. We took advantage of soaking in the massive tub, with views out into the beautiful grounds. We also took advantage of the fireplace. We loved everything. Lastly, many thanks to the gracious and wonderful staff! They truly made our stay special!

This was the best hotel experience we've had to this date. Everything was just perfect from check-in to check-out. The room was on another level - the fireplace, the bathtub, the ceiling showers, even the sound system (which you could connect via Bluetooth and play your own music) was great. You then have the deck where you can relax and enjoy the sounds of the birds chirping and the waves of the sea crashing. You can walk to the dunes and enjoy the sand on your feet. The vibe of the hotel was just amazing - every corner is well thought out and nicely decorated. Nothing is out of place. We also did the couple's massage (shoulders and back) and it was a really nice experience. We loved every minute of our stay and will visit again in the future!

My jaw dropped and stayed that way for the first hour we were there! This place is unbelievably beautiful and magical. Outdoor and indoor spaces are played with and blurred with a whimsical connection to nature. Each space was more awe inspiring than the next and our room was incredibly romantic. The bathroom was modern stunning and just so cool. Outside was our own private jacuzzi and shower. In the evening we sat on our deck or had a fire in our room while listening to the ocean. This place is very well thought out but relaxed and not stuffy. Staff are always present but give you space to simply soften. They say - you come as a guest and leave as a friend - I would agree, I will be back!

Positive: We were there to rest for a couple of days, the area is nice and yes this is a bit green-ish with a garden and stuff. People working here a lovely, the villas are nice, although they are not going to age well. There is a nice walking path to access the beach,m and you can also use bikes for free. There is a shuttle available if timing suits you to access Santa Cruz, although for the price we paid, it really should be a service to do all day for customers. Negative: MASSIVELY overpriced for what comes after. You can literally hear anything your neighbours are doing next door so if you have little one that need to rest in the afternoon, forget it. Most of the pools are in the shade or next to the road. No privacy at all. The whole area is very noisy, between people in the pool next door, people cutting the grass, cars on the road… if you need to rest go somewhere else. Food is extremely overpriced too.

Still an amazing place after staying there some years ago , relaxing, chilled, staff always kind and available, the seixo beach down the hill is stunning and peaceful, except for the huge waves cashing on the sand , maximum respect ! Food is excellent, mostly from the garden, good experience, tasteful. looking for coming back soon :)

Is Areais do Sexio perfect? The problem is that I think the owners and everyone who works there would hate me to say yes. This is a place truly understand true perfect has to be in perfect. This is a cross between the most luxurious retreats and Woodstock 1969. I can’t imagine anyone could not feel relaxed for more than 30 seconds after arrival. The villa we stayed in could not have been better. You will see on the web site they state it is a sustainable residence, so no A/C. That’s not completely true, just open the glass doors on the bottom floor, the windows on the top and let the Atlantic breeze keep the whole place at the most perfect temperature, no matter how hot the sun. The villa itself was beautiful, well equipped and had great beds and bathrooms. As every villa is uniquely designed, I can’t comment on the others, but ours was stunning. The food was also amazing, whether in the greenhouse alongside the plants that have just supplied half the meal, or in the restaurant with the amazing sea views, it could not have been better. Finally the team. Faultless. Could not have been more helpful or cheerful. I would thoroughly recommend booking the field to table experience. You get to all the wild food gardens with the gardener, choosing what you want to eat and then go back and cook it with the chef. An amazing 3 hours! So is Areais do Sexio perfect? Let me just say, nothing could have been better the entire trip, we hated to leave and can’t wait to go back. If that’s your definition on prefect, then yes it probably is. Sorry Areias team…..

We've had the privilege to stay at many high-end hotels in our travels, and Areias do Seixo is at the tippy top of the list. The staff and owners of this magical destination have mastered the art of sustainable luxury, down to the very last detail. The aesthetic of the spaces and the peaceful vibes are genuine and lovingly applied. We enjoyed delicious, eco-conscious meals in a meticulously maintained (yet warm and homey) setting. The natural beauty of the area is unparalleled. Highly recommend a day trip to the sister property, Noah's Surf House for a playful variety of similar hospitality. Thank you for a truly special opportunity to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary!

This hotel is the most amazing place to stay. Beautifully run by the most kindly staff who really try and make your stay the best. We have been coming here from the outset of the concept and have seen the hotel go from strength to strength. The design and furnishings are amazing and you really feel at piece. We have stayed in many luxury hotels throughout the world and the bedrooms at Areias are our favorite by far. We love the concrete floors and ceilings and the large bath tubs and relaxing area to each room are so lovely. Food is plentiful and delicious and it would be hard to ask for more out of a stay on the coast. It’s a bit of a walk to the nearby beach but well worth it. Yoga is on tap each morning and the Spa is the best we’ve encountered, as good as the Chedi in Oman. If you want to stay in a relaxing eco hotel but feel like it’s your home from home, you simply won’t beat Areias do Seixo. We are returning next month….can’t wait. Love to all at A,,,, Simon and Julie x
