I moved to area last year, the Crown urban outstanding pub, a great atmosphere, even despite the current pandemic, they serve very good local beers and the food is very good, we had Christmas Dinner there last night, and both the service and the food were exceptional, and when they are doing them they serve the best fish and chips.

Came with friends last night for a meal as the chef has come from the dolfor inn we knew the food would be good, and he didnt disappoint. Not alot of choice on the menu but I take its because of the current situation.Good sized portions at a good price, the lady who served us was very friendly and attentive. Such a shame they left dofor.

Stayed 4 nights on a voucher scheme; if not restricted by this, would have moved on. Pics & review scores looked OK, but in reality it’s very tired & lacks care + attention. With a little TLC it could be so much better. If I’d read the negative reviews, the proprietor’s responses are indicative of their attitude. They’re not exactly mine-host. On the plus side, lovely location, evening meal was fine, room spacious, and the evening bar lady friendly Cleanliness left much to be desired. Black mould on window frames, bits on the carpet (there for whole stay) & on wiping up spill, bathroom floor was none too clean. Shelf behind cistern dusty + grubby, & glass in the shower had not been cleaned. Uncomfortable mattresses; could feel the springs. In view of the cleanliness, I was unhappy with black bed linen. One day only the bin was emptied, beds were unmade. Very basic ‘continental’ breakfast & if we had to ask for something that was missing, it felt like we were putting them out. It is only available between 8.30-9.30 & on the 3rd day we went down at 9.15 and there wasn’t a table fully laid for us. When we asked for the items that were missing we were told it was because we were late coming down!!! I do many reviews, & very rarely leave negative feedback. I would normally say something at the time or when checking out but, to be honest, their attitude indicated it would be a complete waste of time (& maybe not a pleasant encounter) As I said, what a shame, it could be so nice.
