We stayed 3 nights in Pepino as part of a guided trekking tour (which we undertook with Active Travel). We really enjoyed our stay: not only is the scenery absolutely stunning, but the people working here were great. The food awesome, all home made, and that one of us is vegetarian was no problem. One evening, the woman at pepino even grilled special romanian sausage for us (the non vegetarian half) to enjoy during the world cup final!! The atmosphere is really friendly and warm. The rooms are simple but sufficent, hot water in the shower and warm covers. We would be lucky if we got the chance to come back to Pepino. Thank you! /Martin and Kim
Great views, local food, hand painted furniture, relaxation, best place to recharge your bateries. What we liked the most, is that the place has the character of romanian mountain houses, but all the facilities you need.
The Pensiunea Pepino is in a splendid location with stunning views all round. But, the accommodation is very poor with inadequate bathrooms and general facilities. In fact, I refused to stay in the room offered and was offered an alternative in the village. The food is generally local and OK but is of average quality. I sensed the owners found our small group too much to handle!
We stayed here two nights and loved it. Stunning views of the surrounding country! The meals are delicious and the room simple but comfortable. On one day we walked from here to Bran castle - a beautiful walk with stunning scenery, not too challenging. Highly recommended.
Unbeatable position in a stunning village, more than 1,000 metres up in the mountains. Now is a good time to visit as Luci will be making her famous zacusca - it's just delicious. A lovely place, lovely hosts, perfect base for walking or just staring at mountains and clouds.
