Bit dated but really clean and comfortable - perfect for overnight stay before ferry to Orkney. Food in bar was delicious and plentiful with lots of choice - enjoyed it so much we stopped off for dinner again on return journey the next evening.

My room was too hot initially because it had been heated by the afternoon sun so I had to work out how to open the window further to cool it down. We had a choice of dinner in the restaurant or in the bar; we chose the bar and our food was very good. Reception is not always manned so... More

We were in the area & hadn't been to this hotel for a fair while . So we went by chance & were shown to a table at once by friendly staff. The food was excellent --almost too large a helping ! we enjoyed it all & to be recommended .

Didn't stay in the hotel simply went for Sunday evening carvery. The meat (pork, gammon, beef and turkey) was well cooked, tasty and generous portions as we're the vegetables. The pudding selection was good, but apart from the delicious fresh fruit (raspberries, blackberries and blueberries) was not too tasty. The pavlova was sloppy, the mouse was dry and pastry base... Popped into this hotel for an evening meal to be met by very friendly and cheerful staff, not the fastest service on the planet but when the meals came the plates were hot and the food was hot and plenty of it, a very enjoyable meal

Four of us stayed a night on a business trip. The rooms and bathrooms were adequate, but my room was above the kitchen and I was woken by the kitchen staff talking loudly in the morning. The dining room is a bit basic, but breakfast was fine. It all seemed a bit tired.

Price is fair compared with the local competition in the area, you need to pay £120 plus per night for equivalent quality to a £60 B&B here in the south east of England, but then again, these properties are walking distance from the sea in the northern highlands. I didn't have dinner here as we spent all day in the... More

We had dinner here and had a long wait allegedly due to shortage of staff and to be fair it was busy. However when the food did arrive it was excellent. The food was hot, plates were hot and well cooked tender steak, good chips and tasty stir fry vegetables. The staff were apologetic and tried hard and would go... More
