This hotel is really nice and serves an amazing breakfast with fresh fruit and bread. The room was nice and clean and is perfect for a short or longer stay. Good place to stay if you want to visit Orkney. I would just come back for the good breakfast :-)

We all had soup to start, my son had lentil with was beautiful and had a proper old school home cooked flavour due... More

Tiny hotel in a tiny village, with simple but confortable rooms, attentive personnel, cosy atmosphere and fresh food, with rich breakfast and a lot of fruit: great!. John O'Groats is within easy reach.

Bit dated but really clean and comfortable - perfect for overnight stay before ferry to Orkney. Food in bar was delicious and plentiful with lots of choice - enjoyed it so much we stopped off for dinner again on return journey the next evening.

My room was too hot initially because it had been heated by the afternoon sun so I had to work out how to open the window further to cool it down. We had a choice of dinner in the restaurant or in the bar; we chose the bar and our food was very good. Reception is not always manned so... More

We were in the area & hadn't been to this hotel for a fair while . So we went by chance & were shown to a table at once by friendly staff. The food was excellent --almost too large a helping ! we enjoyed it all & to be recommended .

Didn't stay in the hotel simply went for Sunday evening carvery. The meat (pork, gammon, beef and turkey) was well cooked, tasty and generous portions as we're the vegetables. The pudding selection was good, but apart from the delicious fresh fruit (raspberries, blackberries and blueberries) was not too tasty. The pavlova was sloppy, the mouse was dry and pastry base... Popped into this hotel for an evening meal to be met by very friendly and cheerful staff, not the fastest service on the planet but when the meals came the plates were hot and the food was hot and plenty of it, a very enjoyable meal
