This gem is located in the safest part of Lima, the nicest restaurants, bars, parks and stores are within walking distance. The rooms are comfortable but most importantly they are very clean, The staff is very friendly and they go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Special thanks to Jose, he is a top notch employee. He helped my parents print some documents, he even took the time to highlight and numbered them to make things easier for my parents.
The location, decoration, comfort of the rooms and overall attention couldn't be better. We wanted to love this hostel but sadly I have to report we think is a scam within the hostel. The first night we arrived we happened to meet a woman in the reception that was freaking out. It was her last day and she couldn't open her combination lock suitcase, her pin suddenly wouldn't work. The receptionist called someone nearby to help her open her suitcase after charging a certain amount. Well, that EXACT SAME SCENARIO happened to my mom on our LAST DAY here. She had no issues with her lock combination suitcase, but then the last day... her pin wouldn't work. We didn't believe it was a coincidence, so we googled how to find your new pin combination and after a few mins of trying we opened my mother's suitcase with a completely different pin combination. Nothing was missing, but we felt violated. We think that sadly it is a scam inside the hotel to get you to pay someone to "open your suitcase" right before you must leave. It's a shame that I cannot recommend Hostal El Patio, even though it had all the potential to be a great place to stay. Also, don't ask them to send a taxi. They charged us 65 for the worst taxi ride we experienced in Lima. More affordable, secure and clean taxis at Lima's Airport itself. Safe travels!…
The hotel has a rustic charm, with beautiful gardens and artefacts all around. The location is central to all the main places to visit in the city, many within walking distance. Rooms are comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful and helped to make our stay a very memorable and enjoyable one.
We absolutely loved this little and charming oasis in Miraflores. El Patio immediately caught my eyes, as I started to plan our 3 week vacation in Peru. We stayed here 2 nights before jumping on the Peru Hop bus. 1 night before heading for our 5 day stay in the rainforest in Loreto, and finally 2 nights before leaving for Denmark. I love colours, and I love nature, so this was the perfect place to choose for our stay in Lima. Lots of greenery, which is a pleasure to the retina. Our room was clean and fine, not too spacious. Breakfast was good, compared to other hostels/hotels in Peru, we could choose different varieties of bread. The juice was fresh and delicious. The staff was kind and smiling. Thanks to Antonio, José and Fernando for always being helpful and friendly. We really relaxed here, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I am very interested in art, so I enjoyed to look at the different pieces of art, paintings, potteries etc. around the Hostal. El Patio’s location was perfect, very close to the shopping street Av. José Larco, where you’ll find restaurants, cafés etc. To reach the Historical Center you’ll have to catch a taxi or go by bus. I went by bus, 301 from Av. José Larco. Next time in Lima, Miraflores I’ll definitely return to El Patio. …
We enjoyed staying here. Eggs, bread, jam, fruit provided for included breakfast. My friend was provided with gluton free bread. Clean place. Very pretty with geraniums and ferns everywhere. Room service each day. Well placed to walk around Miraflores. Helpful staff with good english. Only problem was loud parties somewhere nearby, but these seemed to get quieter after midnight. We enjoyed our stay here
