Lovely decor inside & very friendly down to earth staff! Limited vegetarian options. Goats cheese salad was really tasty as the one mains option besides vegetarian curry. Fish & Chips was the biggest fish & chips this man had seen in years! Thick & very tasty! This is from a regular fish & chips as main man! So quite high... More

Organised a hen party here with Dooly's and it was a super weekend. The staff could not do enough for us, and put up with all our antics! The food was top-call and the service. I would highly recommend this hotel for a hen party as they had everything I wanted organised. Thank you to all the staff of Dooly's... More

I love going to Dooly's. The place oozes character. The service is excellent and I've never had even close to a bad meal there. The addition of the tastefully appointed courtyard makes it even more pleasant to visit as my one minor bone with the place was a lack of places to sit with natural light. There are areas in... This is a review for the restaurant - NOT the hotel! Had a quick sandwich here whilst passing through Birr at the weekend. Had been here before for soup and it's always a reliable place to have something to eat. There's nothing fancy about it, and they have a reasonable choice of snacks on the menu. We had toasted sandwiches... More

Family meal in the restaurant. This was very nice, Kids menu sufficient, not to be faulted. The staff were efficient and friendly, with the right bit of conversation throughout the visit. Mid week visit for family occasion so very quiet when we were there. No major fuss but treated well. Also had coffee in the bar and nice bit of... More

From start to finish this was incredibly bad, I am speaking directly about the Bar Restaurant. We sat in one of the booths, the floor had squashed chips and other pieces of food on it, the table was dirty. The girl that served us was very unprofessional and as far as I could see she was not trained at all.... More

Stayed in a tiny room with a single bed, which would not be suitable for a tall or large person. no lift so bear this is mind if you have mobility issues. All of the reception staff were great. Bar food was average, staff in this area not very attentive. Full Irish breakfast looked good, but was stone cold! so... More

A lovely room and breakfast. Staff were very friendly. The shower in our room left a lot to be desired and it was difficult to find the cold water in the bath. So it was scalding baths or nothing! The TV reception was also really bad. But the soundproofing from the nightclub was excellent and the room itself was lovely.... More

Roisin the receptionist was lovely, very helpful and efficient on check-in and indeed throughout our stay. The food in the dining room and bar was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning soon.

Had a couples night here as a treat and were very happy with what we got. Nice welcome at reception, decor was very nice & the room was spotless. We had an evening meal and again, couldn't fault it. It was well priced too. My only criticism (and don't get me wrong, it is criticism & not complaint) would be... More
