Beautifully presented top end B and B. Convenient to Ballybunnion town and golf by car. David was an energetic delightful host. Our room was very comfortable, bed great, bathroom probably the best I’ve seen in a b and b (and some hotels for that matter). The breakfasting area was spacious, and spotlessly clean. Cold breakfast options were beautifully organised and laid out. Hot breakfast efficiently ordered at check in. Food was all fresh and tasty. Although we didn’t use the sitting room on this occasion, it was spacious with comfortable furnishings, decorated with a nice amount of golf memorabilia. This was appropriate as David is a keen and clearly capable golfer and, of course the famous Ballybunion links are just down the road!

We have stayed at the tides a few times now when visiting family who live locally, David is always very friendly and full of local knowledge, and the odd anecdote, it's in a great location easy accessible to the town.
The B&B is always spotless and has a home like feel to it, the beds are extremely comfy but the pillows are unbelievable we always mean to ask him where he gets them from so we can purchase some for home.
The breakfasts are pre ordered the night before we have no issue with that and they are delicious the full irish always hits the spot.
Will be back next time we are over visiting the family

We only stayed 1 night but wish it was more! Best accommodation in all of Ireland! This place is simply amazing. David is a fantastic host, extremely kind and informative with information about the town and the sites to see in and around Ballybunion. He offered great advice for our road trip thru Kerry. The room was phenomenal! Room sizes were big and very clean (we had 4 rooms in total), cold AC, comfy beds and pillows, shower pressure was strong. Everything was in immaculate condition. Waking up to see the cows across the road with the ocean in the background was great. The breakfast in the morning was homemade by David’s wife and was the best breakfast the 8 of us had in all of Ireland. Breakfast also included cereals, fruits, tea, coffee, breads etc etc. We will certainly be back here on our future travels to Ireland. 10/10 recommend. And if you need anything simply email David and he will get back to you right away, great host.

Excellent welcome, despite the late arrival time. Rooms were spacious and spotless. Ours, in the attic, very intimate, but perhaps not very suitable for tall people and still equipped with all amenities, even a washing machine. Suitable for long and short stays. Very kind manager and rich breakfast, continental and Irish, of course highly recommended the Irish. Price a bit high, but given the season is to be expected. Well, if you make a price that is also high, since it is a B&B, I would have breakfast included, whether continental or Irish. Highly recommended experience, if you pass by Ballybunion absolutely stop.

The Tides B&B was easily the best stay on our cross country trip of Ireland. The hosts are welcoming and attentive, extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Our room was cozy and had a great view of Ballybunion. The shower head was the best shower we've had from Dublin to Kerry, there were like nine different shower heads and I wish I could have brought it home with me. I will recommend The Tides to absolutely anyone going to Ballybunion!

Luxurious property with loads of parking a short walk from town. David greeted us upon arrival and couldn't do enough, offering leaflets and advice about places to eat, drink and visit. Showed us to our beautiful room, which was spacious and clean with a large immaculately clean bathroom...including a bath. I was on a motorcycle and David offered to park it in his garage for security and protection from overnight rain. He even asked if my kit was wet, as he could hang it in a heated area to dry out. As a biker this meant a lot, however I feel any bike would be safe at this property, as there is a large wall around the perimeter and lots of parking to the rear, out of sight. He even suggested if we were back with other bikers, we would all be welcome. Thank you David, we loved our stay at the Tides and will definitely be back.

This was my 5th stay, from the moment we arrived David and his wife couldn't have done enough. The Superior triple room was so comfortable. The beds were so comfy, and the sheets smelled amazing and fresh. The pillows are the softest I've ever slept on. I slept better I would have in my own house!! The Hot breakfast this morning was amazing and the brown bread so tasty. Thank you again for your kind hospitality.

We stayed at The Tides on June 8. Definitely, I highlight of our 12-day trip in Ireland.
The host David was very friendly and helpful with local sites to visit. One of the sites was Bromore Cliffs, very beautiful! The room was very clean and spacious and breakfast was bountiful and delicious. If your travels take you through County Kerry, I highly recommend you staying at The Tides B&B.

We received a friendly welcome and felt very comfortable during our stay. The host always had tips for excursions and also got us tickets for a country music evening at the local theater. An authentic experience! The breakfast, served in the elegant winter garden, is of the highest quality. It's worth booking directly.

Hello Chrisman, Delighted to have your folks coming to Ballybunion and even at this time of the year as a single golfer one can always make a call to the Famous Golf Links at Tralee to get you a game if you so wish - The cost of the Golf is very reduced in the shoulder season of October and if your asking me is it worth it yes every penny of a great links golf course. Mores the pity Ballybunion is not open but as you say there be another day once again. Till we meet in the mighty Shores of Ballybunion Safe Travels David

Charles, Tralee Golf Links is available Oct 12th @ 10.18 am or 13.54 or 13th Oct @ 7.54 or 11.30 am Cost 140 Euros and this is designed by Arnold Palmer a wonderful links course that Mr. Palmer said he designed the front nine and God himself designed the back nine. Once you have played same you have to agree. David Walsh

Good afternoon Charles and I am delighted that you had the very good since to book the best B&B in Ireland 2017 as rated by Trivago. In ref to the golf reservations yes indeed I look after a lot of international golfers looking to play the mighty shores of Ballybunion both the World class famous links Old Course and the Robert Trent Jones Cashen course. The powers that be the club this year issued instructions that the green fee players stop after 6th October 2017 till re-opens in April 2018. This has meant a complete loss of the shoulder season in October when the course was always available till the bank holiday weekend at the end of October each year. I am sorry that there is nothing we can do while this policy remains in force and the disappointment I sure this brings. I can only hope this policy does not happen every year and it is just for this year but only time can tell that as the amount of International golfers we have coming to Ballybunion since the save Ballybunion campaign in the 1980 brought a lot of badly and wanted American money that help save the course been washed into the Atlantic. I am sure their are very good reasons for this closure to our guest but as I write this I have not been aware of these reasons. Your only hope is you know a local member through your home club in the USA. Sincere thanks David Walsh

Hello and many thanks for your question. As more and more Visitors are requesting a Room only Option this is what we have provided. Booking through Travels agents and Hotels web sites comes at a cost to all Hotels and B&B. If we included breakfast in our packages we pay commissions on this as well. adds up at the end of the year. Breakfast is an additional cost at ten Euros a Person. This is in our opinion a very reasonable cost for the Breakfast that we offer with all sorts of Choices including five choices of hot dishes from the Kitchen. If our clients come direct to us staying a few nights then we get the opportunity of providing a discount or special price. We look after our guests at The Tides B&B Ballybunion and we hope that you give us the opportunity of looking after your needs in Ireland on this trip. David & Doreen Walsh

We cater for all age groups as for young children we have a travel cot available and I advise when booking to request this please. There is a play area out the rear of the property that is safe for kids but this was never designed this way but of a lot of the kids staying use this area. There is a lovely Children play ground in Ballybunion with swings and slides and all types of jungle bars etc suitable for all ages Also to this the Swimming pools for young kinds at the leisure center is second to none in looking after visitors to Ballybunion. Another matter to look at is the Surf school at Ballybunion for all ages and Mark is only to willing to take the young kids the extra mile to give them memories of the golden sand beaches of Ballybunion.
