John and Mary have been an absolute treat to stay with, we felt as though we had been adopted. Rooms lovely, piping hot showers, breakfast delicious including Johns excellent home made breads, even tea and cake provided while my dad was reading his paper. They have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome, we simply couldn't have asked for better hosts.

Arrived late but was booked in and brought to my room straightaway.
Room was very nice with everything in it plus a complimentary large bottle of chilled spring water to refresh me after travelling all day. Badly needed.
Breakfast was superb and cooked to order. Was full for the day.
I had a transportation problem the next morning and Mary offered to drive me to my business meeting and to collect me afterwards. Nowhere else have i seen this level of service and hospitality.
Will definitely be staying again.
Thanks John and Mary.

We have enjoyed our stay at Avonmore so much that we are going to go back soon. John and Mary are genuinely taking care of their guests and making sure we were having a special stay at their b&b, including special wishes for breakfast. My husband and I are vegan and it was not a problem at all. We have had the best breakfast ever, and our room was spacious and spotless. We highly recommend this unique accommodation.

Monica, belated thanks for the review. It was a great pleasure meeting you both. I hope you're well and hopefully looking forward to at least part of a holiday season this year when Covid Restrictions are relaxed. We've kept busy by renovating and modifying and expanding the menu. So even if you're just passing through, you must pop in and say hello!

We have just spent four wonderful nights at Avonmore House and thoroughly enjoyed it. John and Mary were so welcoming and did everything possible to make our stay memorable. John bakes the best gluten free bread I’ve ever tasted and his other breads are equally delicious. Breakfast is a feast, ordered the evening before. Tea and coffee facilities in room. Mary very kindly provided a packet of gluten free biscuits for this coeliac and John cooked the most delicious breakfasts, always adding something new! You certainly won’t be hungry. Our room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable. WiFi is perfect. There is a beautiful sitting room for the use of guests. There is plenty of off street parking. The location is excellent…..walking distance to town and the beach in the opposite direction. It’s worth walking the beach and there is also a boardwalk. If you visit St Mary’s church it’s worth taking the audio guide . This is a great base for touring the region.COVID restrictions were adhered to at all times. John and Mary will certainly make your stay enjoyable. Well done folks….you are doing an excellent job!

Just update on my review. Lovely b&b. Arrived on motorbike and it was private parking which was great as felt safe for bike. Owners were very pleasant. Breakfast was lovely and looked after special allergies etc. Our room was lovely with all mod cons. Bathroom lovely. Although owner thought we had been told to put a sign out if we wanted our room cleaned and toels changed and replenish tea/coffee we had not been informed. Maybe because we had been chatting about bike etc. It was missed. So just for others staying and want room done just take note. So not a problem and we certainly will be back again and recommend here. It is very central for everything

Thanks for writing the review. Yes, in each room there is a "please make my room up" sign to hang on the door handle, or the guest can just simply ask or leave a note at reception. It's never any bother as the housekeeper is around every morning. There is also a labelled box for the used towels to be placed outside the door if the guest prefers privacy and does not wish a cleaner in their room, as detailed in the bedroom welcome folder. We're glad this misunderstanding did not impact your 2-night stay with us too much and we look forward to welcoming you again.

(Writing this review on behalf of my mother who is not on Trip Advisor, but really wanted to leave a review).

What a find - we had the best break ever. From the minute we arrived, we felt spoilt and really well looked after. The food was amazing and the owners Mary and John could have not done anymore for us during our stay. The rooms were so clean and beautiful. We felt so safe in the midst of covid.
Our breakfast was 5 star each morning and the chats with Mary and John were like catching up with old friends.
Our only problem was we had to leave. We will definitely be back again to the wonderful Avonmore House.

Just returned from a one night stay in Youghal, staying at Avonmore House. I was greeted by the host John and made to feel at home straight away. John gave me a choice of two different rooms. The room was spotless and the bed really comfortable. The best part of the stay was the beautiful freshly cooked breakfast (pre ordered using a computerised booking system in the lobby), John's homemade bread is to die for. John and Mary are wonderful hosts. Highly recommended.

‘Pillow heaven’ & the delicious homemade breakfast made fresh by our thoughtful hosts Mary and John daily made our visit very comfortable indeed. Greatly appreciated after the long haul flights from Australia.

A quiet comfortable good night sleep allowed us to take full advantage of our adventures and sightseeing desires.

Ideal location in the heart of town, easy walk to so many historic sites such as St Mary’s church where countless weddings have taken place since 1220, also the Clock Tower, Lighthouse walkway and the very cool and retro Perks family entertainment centre.

This B’nB was appreciated for its east commute to nearby towns such as Midleton for the incredible tale of Jameson Whisky factory, Cork for the guided tour of the city goal & its shocking history lesson and more. We had a great time visiting various local pubs with live music artists, fancy restaurants and let us not forget some very spooky ghost busting sites.

After our long fun filled days touring the stunning green landscapes, we would return to Avonmore to find ourselves lost in the interior decor, especially the local art work. Just beautiful! What skill the artist/s have. A real sense of a traditional Youghal home stay.

Book the King-Size Bed with Whirlpool Bathtub, it’s the perfect addition to a holiday in Ireland.

I could tell as soon as we stood outside and rang the doorbell and surveyed the sparkling clean windows that Avonmore House was to be just as clean and shiny on the inside too and so it was. When Mary answered the doorbell and showed us to our room we immediately felt at home. As for John's breakfast well it can only be described as five star. During our short trip to Ireland we stayed in five different places in Cork and Dublin. No other establishment lived up to our experience at Avonmore House. department.

From the moment of arrival Mary was the most lovely hostess, everything was immaculate and room was large and extremely well presented. Charming period residence with quaint parking court to front.

The breakfast alone is worth the visit, Johns cooking is incredible, he’s a Ballymaloe trained chef and it shows.

Everything about this place is quality
